So the Mrs really wants to go see Avitar this weekend. I think we have been to 2 movies at the theater in the past 8 years. All I've heard here is it really sucks. I did not read this whole thread but what is the majority opinion on this flick. Worth the $25 it's gonna end up costing for the two of us?

No, I borrowed a SP from Bill Coe about a year ago but never really trusted the damn thing. I bought an Eddy, like JH uses. Like most belay devices, it is "not recommended for rope soloing" but seems to be better than a modified GriGri. Still getting the kinks ironed out of my system, but I was averaging about a half-hour a pitch (so about an hour a pitch once I re-climbed to clean each pitch). Sure is a hell of a lot more work than just free-soloing. I suppose a bit safer, though...

Some nice juicy dry Bacon out there today... Nobody climbing but me. Jimmy O made the rounds to holler howdy. Got to play with my new rope solo gizmo.

Redpoint Climbers Supply of Smith Rock Robbed
denalidave replied to RedpointSupply's topic in Climber's Board
As in "bumping" the topic back to the top of the "Active Topics" page so it doesn't get buried by threads with more recent posts. And I thought it had something to do with all those people in the disco tech bathroom stalls back in the 80's. -

ALL THAT MATTERS IS POPE & DAWG MUST APPROVE OF ANYONE'S CLIMBING TACTICS/STYLE. If pope hangs on a nut, it is not hang-dogging. The rest of us suck, cause we clip bolts, period. How much clearer can the issue be?

Shit, at least get a cold one.

is train cars a stadard unit of measure? Yes, as is "a little bit", "a lot", "a hell-of-a lot" and a "butt load". Standard is kind of a relative term.
-
I'd wager that if you collected all the bolts in the whole world of outdoor climbing, you might have enough to fill a train car or two. Maybe only half a train car. Certainly no more than several train cars.

Removing clothes to finish a climb is AID. OK, almost aid.

Yikes! Baller. I like the soundtrack. Casually groovy, yet intense. Very fitting.

Maybe 20 days if your Ivan and climb in any weather. I hope we get a couple good climbing days between now and closing. Bummer, but at least I can finally catch up on watching Oprah.

How to transfer iPod files to iPod/Computer/iTunes

I'm in need of a cool techy program that can block spam on rock climbing forums. Will this work?
