I'd say most of the route is 10a/b but the final crux on the second pitch 10dish (IMO).
-
BTW, Bill, did you loose a nut tool on YW the other day? Describe it, and I will be sure to tell people whom I bootied it from...
-
1st pitch or 2nd? How many points on 8a do ya get for 10 laps up the SE Corner? 2nd pitch. No 8a points for the corner as it only has a couple 5.7d+/- moves on it...
-
Not that it will help my scorecard as I always get my ass blownout on the damn thing anyway...
-
Since were changing ratings now, I vote Blownout should be 10d.

For what it's worth, I can't seem to load even the smallest pics anymore. I've tried to resize them "best for web", "best for e-mail" and on and on. I always get snaffled anymore, regardless of the size. Even very small files taken with my phone won't load... But no, I have never tried to load them directly from the camera/phone.

Granted, the bindings I had issues with were very old, I think from the mid to late 90's. Fact is, those models are prone to release into free heel mode. Also, many ski techs/shops won't mount or work on the older ones for liability reasons. I have some newer ones (still pretty old but from this century) and they have not had the free heel release issue.
-
I'd suggest that this phenomena is mostly internet bullshit. That must be why it kept happening to me, over and over again with my old Fritschis... Probably just a phantom of my imagination that my heels were unlocked spontaneously due to the excessive spray intake and my weak, impressionable mind soaking it all up... Seemed to mostly happen with a pack on more than without one on (heavier load on the bindings), but it did happen at the resort several times too.
-
I'd stay away from older Fritschi bindings as they tend to release into "instant free-heel mode" while skiing in downhill mode. Not a good thing, especially with a pack on in bad snow conditions. I think the ones made after 2005ish (?? maybe earlier??) no longer have that issue.

I second Bill's hike but would suggest doing it on a weekday as it is a VERY popular trail, for good reason. Depending on the water level, there are some great high jumps into the punchbowls. I've been wanting to go do this one as an over-nighter, starting from the top and camping about mid-way down. I think there is a campground/sites there?

Sounds good... I usually work at 3, so mornings work well...

I'm glad you weren't around in the 1860's. Well, then again, being a white, heterosexual male, I would likely not be the one of the folks feeling the wrath of societies injustices back then... Just sayin.

If it's a religious institution, than why is government involved at all? You think we should compromise civil rights and liberty to "keep the peace?" I'm glad you weren't around in the 1860's. A yeah, that was my point, why is the gubment involved. I'm glad I was not alive then, too. What is wrong with civil unions anyway? Seems like a fair compromise to me? I'm open-minded about the options, however.

I agree Joe, but you know how the Beatards think...
-
Yeah, civil rights are not very important, are they?. I can't believe the government is "wasting" so much time on this issue. Any other issues you're on the fence about? Have you come to terms with that whole "civil rights" debacle from the 60's, or does that still sting, too? No, that is not what I meant. I believe we should all have the same civil rights, including gays. However, I'm not convinced marriage is the best compromise. Why not do civil unions that offer the same benefits (more/less)? This could keep the right wing nuts happy (a bit anyway) and also give the libs the rights they want/deserve. As I stated, I'm am undecided on the marriage factor, but not for reasons of straight get this, gays don't. It is not as black and white, from my perspective... There has to be some compromises on both sides (IMO). Seems boths sides almost always have an all or nothing attitude, especially the right wing. OH! I get it now. Separate, but equal. Wait, didn't we try that already? By that logic, we should also make inter-racial couples have "civil unions." And when women vote, we shouldn't call it "voting." That way we can at least keep the rightwing nutjobs happy. Whatever Rob. I think is is a fair compromise to let the religious fanatics keep their sacred marriage. After all, isn't marriage a religious institution in the first place? Then again, I could care less if Billy Bob wants to marry Johnny Joe. Whatever. Yeah, seems like we do have much more pressing issues in our society that our beloved gubment could be spending it's time on. Like I said, I'm not convinced either way, but some compromises need to be made to keep the peace...

good point, if there wasn't an anchor he would have topped out and it would have never happened. No doubt. Who originally put the SE rap anchors in? Maybe we should make a list of anchors that are candidates for removal. I would have no problem with it at all if folks decided a bunch of them should go away. I've heared rumors that some anchor chopping may occur... Seems like a lot of work to me for something that is not really that important. I mean, if you don't like the fixed anchors, don't use em. Otherwise, let bye-gone's be bye-gone's. Being Beatarded is pretty funny... Then again, good point about topping out if the anchors were not there. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

I happen to know a few gun-toting lesbians, who are really quite nice. Just sayin, we all come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Whatever floats yer boat. Still undecided on the whole gay marriage thang, but it sure seems like we have much bigger problems our gubment could be wasting it's time and our money on...

WOW! And I thought STT was just pulling our legs to get us riled up. Glad you are OK, good reminder to us all about staying focused. As far as the agnostic quest, I'd be knowing God caught my arse, but that is just me. OK, flame away beatards... (Sidenote - I HATE religion but do believe God exists)
