  1. Imagine all the illegal pooing would go on if they let climbers into the park during the shut down

    shutdown

It's so retarded how many government websites and cameras are shutting down -- like they pay for bandwidth by the day or something. The national zoo even shut down the panda cam "OMG SHUT IT DOWN SHUT IT ALL DOWN!!!!"
  3. I wish the crackheads would agree to not bust windows out if we all promise to leave our cars unlocked
  4. What if I decide to go do some backpacking in the rain tonight at MRNP? Are they just going to lock me in?

Bummer. Are they going to put ropes up around the crags or something? Can't he just climb anyway?
  6. Gee, thanks for all that.
  7. This sounds par-for-the-course for the Italian justice system. Didn't they charge some scientist with manslaughter once for failing to accurately predict an earthquake?

Hello! Sir, as per the conversation with you, I am thanking you for to be doing the needful, and also please to ask you questions for the same. Please revert back at your soonest convenience to my email, or leave the required documents on my desk itself only.
  10. I think a trail project is an excellent idea. There are far too many way trails scattered between some crags.
  11. Holy shit! and here I am about to schlep into the office. Thanks for making my life look like a waste of time
  12. It's weird to me that the people on this thread being the most combative and aggressive with personal attacks are the ones who think the rangers are great. Not a good sign, and personally not what I would have expected.
  13. Whatever happened to Larry the Tool? Illegal bouldering poo spots sounds right up his alley.
  14. Many employees match donations. Now would be a great time to make one, and be sure to do the paperwork for matching if your employer does that sort of thing -- these guys need the money and it's tax-deductible. You can even get a cool Helicopter Rescue Team t-shirt Donate via PayPal here: http://scvsar.org/hrt/?page_id=578
  15. I think this technique also works with whiskey
  16. Yeah, yet another rope thread I'm looking for the ultimate cragging rope -- something robust enough to handle a lot of mileage, but light enough to not feel like I've got a steel cable dangling between my legs (ha ha). If $$ was no object, what rope would you buy for 100% cragging use?
  17. why? They're public employees. I'm not trying to add to any negative reaction, but one could make a good argument that the onus is on them to do something good. I'm paying them, right?
  18. Im free midweek, dan
  19. I haven't seen anything in the news, have they publically identified the climber yet?
  20. Climbing for charity
  21. It's a tossup between "route-setter" and "smiff" edit: also, anyone who makes a big deal insisting you call it frenchman's coulee and not vantage. Who fucking cares?
  22. I brought some special brownies to share but unfortunately Everett Mountain Rescue was in the camp next door and they found out and then Scott Welton didn't want me volunteering anymore
  23. bear in mind, the cilogear packs are pretty lightweight (I would not haul one up a rock face)
  24. I had an arcteryx bora, I really hated it. The CCW packs look nice
  25. ha, me too. I even found a patagonia tumpline for sale, surprisingly less than one thousand dollars
