I thought this was going to be a thread about Everest!

This method doesn't sound very safe. I'm glad you didn't get impailed by a flying picket.

Apples and Oranges, Kevbone. Nice try "Autoweek".

I would expect the crux pitch of Rock On will be wet...that always takes a looong time to dry...otherwise should be good. You should be able to see if climbs on the Apron (Snake, Diedre etc.) are dry by looking up from the road. Penny Lane and Burgers and Fries are quick drying, but often busy for this reason.

Welcome back, C. You forget your password or what? And yes, we are, like, weird. It's why you luv us. It's my semi-yearly delurking season (sort of like the semi-yearly womens sale at Nordstrom, only different). The rest of the year I watch. And wait. What are the sale prices on women like at Nordstrom's? If you have to ask you can't afford them. The purchase price is the least consideration. The maintenance costs are what will bleed you dry. And the resale value is typically very low. Resale value!?...don't you usually have to pay to get rid of?

LOL...at the answers so far. Seriously, though, I found an arial photo...I circled the beam structures, house and put rectangle around where the walls are. Note the very large structure being built (just under the race track). You’ll have to go to the web site to zoom in. http://www.surrey.ca/Inside+City+Hall/City+Departments/Engineering/Spatial+Information/COSMOS+External/ Launch the COSMOS - search the South Surrey - cross street 8th Ave and 184th Street

Take a look at the structures(white beams of varying sizes) seen in the attached photos. There are several of these configurations scattered along the road way leading into some property down the street from a friends place near 8th and 184th in South Surrey, BC. I have also included a photo of the building on the land. My question …Is this Art, a Cult related thing, or an Alien landing strip? There are 4 or 5 different ‘installations’ of the white beam configurations, scattered across the front of the acreage. Not sure if you get a sense of the scale, but these are huge beams. There are also some cement ‘walls’ that are randomly placed at the entrance to the driveway. I'll see if I can get photos of those. The walls are interesting in that they are very functional looking (similar to the walls of the house) – yet don’t have a clear purpose, as they are staggered and overlapping, rather than in any semblance of a straight line, so obviously not intended to block or restrict anything, but be more visually interesting. WTF?

My climbing hero is the one having the most fun.

Does your girlfriend know you are planning to bring climbing gear? Seriously, dude...your going to **Maui**...leave the climbing gear at home. Go snorkel with the turtles, drink fruity tequila drinks with the little umbrellas on the beach or go for a hike in Haleakela crater. If you really need some adrenaline, try surfing on the North Shore. Most of the rock is volcanic choss anyway. PM me if you want beta on the best snorkeling spots.

You'd be fine for Ranier, paved and plowed all the way to Paradise. Baker is another story...this dirt/gravel road may have swollen streams you need to drive across and will have patchy snow in many places that you will need to get over to more dry road on the other side...it will definately mean you have to park a bit farther down the road and have an extra few miles to walk.

Okaaaay....but did she get the HPV vaccine?

JayB - you seem well informed - i'm curious, what is your occupation? Being a new parent myself, EricB makes a good point - parenthood must activate the 'overprotective to the point of paranoia gene'.

Can you point me to these studies? I'm interested in seeing how in depth this has been studied.

Autism is pretty harsh, too. I think the feared MMR/Autism link is freaking alot of people right now. My wife works with children and has noticed a frightening increase in the number of kids with autistic tendancies. I'm not implicating the MMR, but something must be going on to cause this very real increase. How hard is it to get individual Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccines - that could be what it takes to get this group back on the vaccination train.

Zebra-Zion looks awesome...its on my tick list for next time I am there!

Can't believe nobody has posted this yet. There hasn't been a good vaccination thread for a while: http://www.king5.com/localnews/stories/NW_050408HEB_measles_alert_SW.caa3af67.html I think things are going to get worse. Much worse, since Jenny McCarthy was on Oprah promoting her book there is going to be untold millions of spawn out there running around not vaccinated. I think its time to take your tin foil hat off and get vaccinated. Discuss.

Thats my boy...i mixed that video right after the guests went home. Good times!

My son had his first birthday today. His uncle bought him a drum set ...at first I was skeptical how age appropriate this is, but in typical first-birthday sugar induced inspiration, he brought the house down with his first drum solo ...(Kevbone, you will especially appreciate this). myMVucf0H0A

Wife and I took the boy up Mt. Seymour today...what a great day out! We had lunch on the summit: Played in the snow:

We were up there today between 12 and 3pm. The snow conditions were perfect for hiking. Firm enough to support our weight with just boots, soft enough to kick steps up the steep bits.
