Man, just saw this one on the news....so fucked up! I hope those bastards lose their jobs. It seems since the border guards got firearms their attitudes have taken a nose dive. Conversely, the US border guards have been quite pleasant of late.

Sportiva Trango Extreme Evo Light vs. Trango S Evo
David Trippett replied to LuckyMike's topic in The Gear Critic
I have both. The Trango S is a great summer boot. I climb almost all winter alpine and all of my ice in the Trango Extreme. I love them. Some of the Mad Rock offerings looked impressive in the shop, and the price is nice. You should check those out too. -

Trip: Moab Area - Creek and Towers Date: 10/21/2007 Trip Report: Autumn is a great time in BC to migrate to warmer, drier climes. Birds do it, so can I. Time to pack the rig and recharge the Vitamin D for the long winter... It was my first trip to the Moab area. In general, I enjoyed the towers a lot more than the Creek....too much of a good thing I guess. As much as I love trad, lugging around 64billion cams is a bit much. The Towers are much more interesting and climb more like granite than the Creek. The first week I climbed with my friend Stewart from Squamish and the next with Blake "Megalodon Meister" Herrington. We managed to get in a lot of cragging with a wide cast of characters and also managed to squeeze in a few towers. In the end we did Primrose Dihedrals on Moses tower, Lightning Bolt Cracks on North Six Shooter, Fine Jade, The first two pitches of Coyote Calling, and Ancient Arts. Here's a few photos of the trip....I'll post some more as they come in. Photo Credits: Blake, Me, Stewart, and Israeli Zach Stewart on "Anunaki" me on "Digital Readout" me on "Rocklobster" me on "Unbelievable" Alf "The Human Encyclopaedia" on Wiggins I The SIx Shooters Approaching the Rectory Blake leading the summit pitch of Fine Jade Blake beginning the head-first down-climb Pitch 1 of Coyote Calling Castleton Blake cooking up some Meth in his mobile lab Dr. Seuss weirdness in the Fishers Blake on Ancient Arts The Lorax me charming the cobra Gear Notes: 6 sets of cams each from blue Alien to 6 Camalot Approach Notes: High Clearance Internal Combustion

University of Yosemite. All the schooling you'll ever need. I just started kindergarten there...

I went with the Carhartts. Got em' for 35$(USD!!...woohoo!)in Moab and they saved my ass on the chimney pitch on Primrose Dihedrals yesterday....if they only made body suits....I'd not have the chicken wing tattoos. They are a bit stiff though, and I hope they break in.

The self-appointed world traveler police are quick to draw their (insubstaintial) weapons here and start shooting. They are quite sensitive and precious. I would suggest just heading out there and keeping your eyes and ears open for opportunity. Be friendly and keep an open mind. You'll have no trouble finding work or whatever you're looking for.
