  1. I kinda think the issue you all seem to want to ignore is the close high speed pass technique used on Tyson.g. Kinda rude and kinda dumb. If one rushed up on a pedestrian like that with a motorcycle, there is no doubt one is sending a message and might get into real trouble aka 'get off my lawn' or with the PD.
  2. my shoulder, which is going to have to be repaired soon, begs to differ Sorry to hear that Minx, on the positive side, I have a good friend who had shoulder surgery at our age and it turned out just fine, just took a bit of time to recover. He does have the knack for letting an injury heal tho, one of the many fringe benefits of having a non-climbing life too. So just get it done! You'll be that closer to recovery. I've just seen A LOT more carnage in full contact sports, that's all, and there are full contact climbs out there.
  3. In comparison to resort Alpine skiing, my two cents: I do have to add that one nice thing about climbing is that while there are objective hazards, accidents caused by climber ignorance, fatigue, confusion or mistake and also environmental risks (HACE, hypothermia, etc.), climbing has fewer risks than skiing when one looks at the kind of joint damage--knees in particular--typical in long time skiers. I don't know ANYONE who has blown out a knee climbing. I know quite a few people that have blown knees or are having a ton of trouble just getting around in their 50's from skiing. I would also add that climbing as a sport has far less risk than sports like football, hockey and rugby in terms of the risk of head injury (not to mention all sorts of bruises, tears, breaks, strains, pulls and sprains).

  5. +2 for classes also. We have all sorts of folks cratering in snow gullies here, they have great ice axes, but the knowledge is what failed them, and off they go in a chopper to the ICU.
  6. I thought fat boys and tough guys were at opposite ends of the real man spectrum.

OK, but you first.... Nahhh...I'm an athiest. I don't believe in anything. I reconsidered it once but i couldn't find any evidence to make me believe anything or something. I've got nothing to reconsider about anything. All right then, I'll give it a shot. I really like wearing condoms. Especially here in Wyoming. Yeehah!
