  1. it is truly miserable to ski/hike in. angling towards moraine lake too early leaves you with a barefoot stream crossing (couldnt find a tree to cross on). I can vouch that it sucks equally in a day, and as an overnight. Get a snomobbl for a ride to the wilderness. definitely ski in/out; you can slide about 1/4 to 1/3 the total distance (23 miles if memory serves me correctly)
  2. if he found it Sunday, i doubt thats it, because we were one of the last to leave the park...

    Home gym angle?

so the next question now, is what shape to build a modular wall attachment? I'd like to add a large feature to bolt holds on to change the angles of the wall a bit. something like this or this. I'd like to know if any of you have created/climbed on modulars like these and what shape was good for climbing on. Just looking for ideas and tips before I start building it. And, for the Corvallis folks around, we are climbing in the cave most Tuesday evenings and I'd like to extend the invitation to all y'all to come and climb!
  10. Why are you "stoked?"
  11. I am running about 50% on boots. Generally most have been comfortable after a season of breaking them in, but the primary problem has been that they breakdown and blow out seams after a few years. (I am rough on gear)
  12. regardless of whether he gets off scot free on a technicality during an appeal, he is a branded man now. He broke the law and everyone knows it now. Let him rot.
  13. Found this in NatGeo's online selected photos. Just thought it was a neat shot. It said the shot was from Tasmania somewhere. That is all. Carry on.

  18. next time give him 2 options: 1. take him to police and let them prosecute it. 2. the beating of his life, and he doesn't get reported.

  21. Everyone loves Bend, OR but the unemployment rate there is something like 30%. Dont even think of moving to Bend.
  22. RyanB- thats an amazing piece of rippled granite! Where'd ya find it?
  23. if you like the sound of Water's post above, get used to rain and clouds if you're thinking of living west of the cascades. East is a good compromise on weather, but the urban areas are much smaller. If that isn't an issue (with working in your field for instance) slightly east of the cascades can be a good setup. Opportunities abound in the NW! I can only recommend it out here. Tons of trails everywhere, lots of local crags and a distinctly different attitude on things.
  24. is any of the data downloadable for those of us who work in GIS fields?

    What a rush!

I don't think you're body would handle the G force of an ejection too well. Might take an inch or two off your height just through spinal compression.
