  2. Wheel of Life or something. Dai Koyomada (sp?)
  3. wicked hard is it a boulder problem or a FA solo 6" off the ground, you decide!
  4. Squaw = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I think 80$ last year... and the crowds, oh the crowds. you can get the same terrain in less $ and crowding at Alpine
  5. Thats great to see Dark Shadows without the hordes. That makes a difference on the enjoyment factor.
  6. some day... I need to quit my job, win the lottery, and my fiancee needs to get over her fear of heights so I can have a ropegun
  7. nice. How tall are routes there generally? Whats the best season to go in?
  8. early season you will have the best coverage at sugar bowl. It gets the most precip and is at a higher elevation than the others. Mt Disney and Mt Lincoln/silverbelt lifts are all you need to have a serious day Alpine Meadows backside bowls are also worth spending time in.
  9. It has all the right climber, biker, and watersport bumper stickers to make you fit right in at any campground. Here are the details: This is a red/maroon 1998 Ford Ranger XLT. It is a V6 4.0 Liter automatic, 2wd, power everything, new stereo. It has been taken very good care of(mechanically) and has never been in a wreck or fender bender. I have owned it since 25,000miles. The exterior has some pretty good scratches on the roof and a few scratches and a dent on the side near the tailgate(just from using it as a truck is meant to be used). The front bumper skirt is missing but this is only aesthetic. There is a bedliner and a red aluminum canopy I just put on. It is set up for camping with a foam mattress cut to fit in the bed. It just broke 100,000 miles and I have taken it in for a complete fluid overhaul. It has a newish (@70,000mi) high capacity alternator and a bumper mounted tow ball. New front brakes, newish tires, probably have another 20,000 on them still. I love this truck and am selling it only because my new job gave me a work truck to use for personal use. The asking price is negotiable. The kelly blue book value was $5500 at a "Fair" condition rating, I am asking $3800. If you dont think that is fair, make me good deal. It seriously looks like
  10. RIP Jim. His footprints around the NW are bigger than anyones and he will be missed.

    Thought of the day!

The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it. Moliere
  14. I work for a agricultural service/supply company doig fieldwork on the federal projects they get. Herbicide application. Now before you tear into the "H" word, herbicides have come a long way since agent orange. Luckily, I dont ever have to touch the stuff. I just tell the pilots where to go and collect money from the feds.
  15. That sucks. I have camped up there several times without a problem but I will be more careful now. Grr, I hate it when "safe" places become otherwise.
  16. ROFL Awesome Bill
  17. Hey, I am finishing up a project for work in Zion sometime in the first week of november and wanted to know if anyone was going to be in that area and up for a day of climbing. I am driving up I15 and I84 to get home so anything a few hours from there is game. I know it is a shot in the dark, but I am desperate for some rock before winter sets in. I can follow mellow 5.11 gear and am solid on leading to 5.10
  18. I have given up hope trying to guess winters. Just let it snow and enjoy it when it does.
  19. epinephrine: 5.9 6 pitches of chimney. +/-1500ft Prince of darkness: .10something 6(?) exciting sport pitches Solar Slab: 5.8 8 pitches The weather then will be a little chilly in the morn/evening but otherwise ideal. it is possible to get 75deg days in January.

  22. Thailand is/was cheap. go there while the gettin is good cause prices are risin faster than Dean Potter on El Cap
  23. if you have that many ropes laying around and being used interchangeably, have a system for keeping track of usage for each one. retire as necessary according to the rope log
  24. I cant believe how climbers have gotten shafted on access issues at Hueco. Just climbed there today and you have to go through a silly video (understandable for tard tourists, and thus everyone) but they only let a small number of folks in at any one time, and they have closed 2/3 to 3/4 of the park to anything but guided tours. John Sherman must be bummed.
