I would really just reccomend the main South face ramp. It is a hell of a time on the way down and you can get turns on some really steep bowls lower down if you scout them on the way up. There is lower avy danger, and you have the added help of not getting lost in the trees because you can follow your tracks in.

I can definitely say the second pitch of L29 was one of the airiest, funnest climbs I've done, but I was following. I can also agree with curtveld about the first pitch as I did lead that. That and maybe feeling really comfortable climbing Karate Crack at smith. What a lovely line.

I have read something about measuring the elongation and comparing how much it has streched to the original 60m. dont remember what the cutoff is, but after a certain % elongation it has lost too much elasticity. just one way.

your first problem is the lack of volcanos near SoCal. You need to be in much closer proximity to the mountains.
