I'll take the Beckey if you've still got it.
  3. I'd be up for a trip out to leavenworth. Check your PMs.
  4. Are you driving or flying? If the first, I've got the month off and always wanted to go to the valley.
  5. I'm a sucker for loop hikes, try to avoid going the same way twice. The Napeequa valley supposedly only has two ways in or out, on opposite sides of the valley. So imagine my surprise flipping through the 75 scrambles book to see a route from Buck pass to High pass. I have map that shows a trail leading down from the pass into the Napeequa valley, making possible a grand loop starting at Trinity, going up phelps creek, over spider gap, buck pass, and back through the valley. While I'm sure it would involve plenty of scrambling and bushwhacking, I'm wondering if this route is possible. Anyone tried it, know anything? Recommendations for scrambling sidetrips along the way?
  6. Drool. Where can one obtain beta for the area? Best guidebook?
  7. Does anyone know about climbing the West ridge itself? Went up the route this weekend and was disappointed to find that most of it is in gulleys rather than on the crest itself. Was thinking of going back and trying it the real way.
  8. I've got some extra time, either thursday to sunday or saturday to tuesday. Anyone want to head up to do eldoardo and some of the other stuff in the area? Or wander into the pickets, either challenger from the north or west mac/degenhardt from the south. We could set up in boston basin and knock off a couple of routes. I've got all sorts of ideas, but if you've got something better let me know. PM me. -Michael
  9. Check your PM's.
  10. Was thinking of getting some turns in up at Cascade Pass this weekend but can't justify/afford driving on my own. If somebody wants to team up on something, that could be cool, but mainly I'm just looking for a rideshare. 1. Leaving saturday morning, back sunday night. 2. Cascade Pass or anywhere thereabouts. 3. Seattle. 4. 1 5. I can steal my girlfriend's car if necessary, about 32 mpg.
  11. I was thinking of heading down somewhere between the 3rd and 6th, but need to be back by monday. Any idea on how far up the road is passable?
  12. I had the exact same experience topping out, barely stretching to get gear in that crack, no rope or slings left to build an achor with, had to just clip into a couple of pieces with my daisy and call it good. Next time I'll add one more short belay.
  13. I'm in about the same position you are, so can hardly offer to teach you that much, but if you want to get out, PM me.
  14. So plans got canceled due to highway 20 being closed, but I'm going to try again this weekend. Let me know if anyone's interested in some rock or snow. -Michael
  15. Just looking to get out there. If somebody is heading up there and would take another climbing/skiing partner, I'd love to come. Doesn't really matter what. Otherwise, I can amuse myself if someone's just interested in carpooling, my car or yours, since I can't justify driving all that way on my own. -Michael
  16. I'm looking to head up that way, haven't settled on what I'm doing just yet. If nothing else, I'd be interested in carpooling.
  17. I'm planning about heading up there to get some skiing next weekend. Was thinking about just doing a purely snow route, say Black peak or Snowking (snowfield? I always mix those up), but getting some rock in could be great too.
  18. So has anyone spent much time up in this area? Favorite trails, climbs? I wonder if this means they'll get around to actually fixing the Index-Galena road since it seems like it will be one of the major access points for the wilderness.
  19. I'm just getting into backcountry skiing, but if you want to get out somtime, I'd be game. I'm in Seattle. -Michael
  20. Jacket's too big for me, hope you find a home for it.
  21. I'm thinking it could be a nice weekend to go try Ride the Lightning on Goose Egg Mt.
  22. As much as I love the rock up there, it'd be nice to actually be able to ski this year. I can borrow a tele setup, but since I don't know how to tele ski, I can't see that ending well. I'm wondering if anyone could loan me some AT skis? I've got alpine boots, can get a beacon/shovel/whatnot. Alternatively if you have an older setup, or even just bindings, you'd be willing to part with at a reasonable price, that could work. I'm about 6', 165 pounds. As far as dates go, anything but memorial day works for me.
  23. What size is the jacket? If it fits I'll take it.
  24. I'd be up for some rock before the rain moves back in for the weekend. Check your PM's.
