here's another example of egregious state-mandated pay rates: Industrial Power Vacuum Cleaner Operator, Journey Level: $9.24 I'm pretty sure just about any of the low skill jobs in WA could be taught to 6 year olds, like they do in India. It only makes economic sense. because: everything is really about economics, when you think about it.

prevailing wage rates include benefits. so if you take the horrifyingly egregious income of $23 and change per hour, times it by full time status (is this what most get?) you get $920 /week (minus benefits, which are not paid in cash). so maybe that ticket booth attendant walks with around $600 per week cash? like, oh my god no wonder we are bankrupt. lower the taxes on the rich immediately lols. sounds like you chose the wrong career, jayb!

No one was buying treasuries. stagnant. hence, higher rates. why? a lot of talk about the recovery taking hold, giving better yields in other markets? so i read. QEII doing nothing because it was already priced into the markets months ago on initial rumors? i personally have no friggin idea where treasury (and mortgage) rates will go in the near future. my feeling is that they will stabilize near current rates or climb a bit higher, testing the recovery, if you will. then the feds will shift to mortgage backed security purchasing, if rates don't pull back a bit....

And what is your 6 month outlook for 10 year treasuries? they've been hammered for three weeks straight now.

    Repeal of DADT

if only your understanding of irony rivalled your supposed understanding of "trailer trash". then you might even agree with me.

    oh, the irony.

    Repeal of DADT

i think you are missing the point. which is: if it wasn't for democrat's efforts, there would have been no shift in previous US military policy. dadt was a compromise.

    Repeal of DADT

to be exact about it, democrats are entirely responsible for dadt. without democrats, dadt wouldn't exist, and homos would still be as ostracized as in the whenever pre-90's.
  14. you seem to be missing the point. perhaps he doesn't want to climb this mountain. seems like he doesn't, at least right now. i personally think the answer to his question is in his question: follow your bliss.

    1. a big "if". your simplistic scenario is probably one that jb doesn't believe either, and 2. unrelated.
  22. You have been polishing your crystal ball? i've been polishing my laptop screen (ew!). does that count?
  23. jb, i absolutely support your right to remain utterly and completely angry every moment of your life. i further support your right to think that this will somehow change that which you are so upset about.

heh, let's not jump to conclusions about my current financial position in life inre RE investments! I'll leave any coy allusions and pretenses to another poster. I won't post particulars, but I'll say that my current investments would not give a particularly cushy "retirement"! (although i could scrimp and save and make do, i suppose, living off of potatos and wild thistle tubers.)
  25. what's funny is that in the big scheme of things, most posters here have way more in agreement than vice-versa. but then it just wouldn't make for much fun, would it?
