  1. Thank God, it is not happening during my spring break again this year. The last two times I have gone down there I have been forced to leave due to the Red Rock rendevous, and all the WANKS that come to see the PRO's. Going down there this year form the 7th through 16th. By the way has anyone ever camped up in the Enchanted Forest?
  2. Do I get a prize for being the second to vote?
  3. 1/4's sounds like death to me. Can't believe they still sell that shit.
  4. I think people who claim an FA before they even try to check sources or do any research are just stroking thier ego. You have no idea if someone has climbed there before, stop sparying and do some fact checking.
  5. I have a ticket to go to Alaska for a Month & 1/2, all of july and the first two weeks of august. I am looking anyone with personal experience of multi-week trips into either the Brooks Range or the Aleutian Islands. This will be a nonclimbing trip as I unfortunately do not have the time to prepare and train. Any information on the best guides(book) to buy or websites ( my searches have only turned up guided trips) that will provide this type of information will be greatly appreciated.
  6. just my 2 cents: The first two screws wouldn't have even kept the climber off the ground. next time don't waste precious time and energy placing gear that wont help. the ice looks sick and blue. jealous cause I am sitting in the library, studying tax, and peps are getting to climb some ice.
  7. Went to Banks today and got shut down on all fronts. 1st: Coulee Police stopped me and gave me a ticket for speeding and then brought out the drug dog and took my grass, and pipe and bent me over. 2nd: Ice around devils sucks. daggers above drop down randomly and crash all over the lower pitchs. Zenith is getting close needs another cold snap. Cable isn't touching but close. Salt n Pepper looks in. The Pee wee climbs are wet and the top outs look a little bit to be desired. All in all we didn't climb any ice and got f'ck by the GD pinkertons.
  8. Looking to climb in banks 19-21st shoot me a pm
  9. Hey,climbers from WA. It is going to be ass cold in MT & WY so I am headed to Spokane to meet up with some friends and climb in banks. Looking to climb Sat,Sun,Mon.19th-21st Shoot me a PM.
  10. Send me a PM or a email @ bryan_schmitz@yahoo.com you keep your picks and I keep mine we just trade shafts. Mine have climed WI6- and M6 they have good karma.
  11. Anyone wanna climb in Banks on Thursday? I am driving through and would be willing to tie into the sharp end for just about anything under WI5+. Pm me tonight or I won't get up early. Or better yet call me at 503 550 3373
  12. The Rendezvous brings wanks in from all over the country. I have left Red Rocks twice because of it and the red river gorge earlier this year as well. I climbing and not partyin is what you want to do don't be there when it is going on. Stay until then and then head north to St. George, they have some sweet climbing there and it is only a couple hours north of vegas. or you could go to one of them other areas around vegas.
  13. I am driving back to bozeman on thursday and would be willing to get up early and try and be in the spokane area before ten if I had someone to show me around the banks area. Never been there before but would trade some rope gunning for some guiding. This is a big step for me cause i really hate apline starts and wwould commit to one to get my but to banks so I can climb some ice in banks. The cable if its in.
  14. Glacier national park, has lots of ice, but getting there and information/beta could be a problem unless you are in the know, which I am not. Might consider posting on Montanaice.com
  15. How long did you stuff the ketchup bottle in your coat before it unfroze and you could apply it to your face.
  16. Indian Creek or Flagstaff/sedona area heard bishop, huecco, or porto chico in mexico is good during the early spring late winter but never been there. City of rocks WILL be too cold, no drinking water and maybe bring crampons and ice picks.
  17. My two cents if I were to do it over after just finishing at Bozeman. Reno, NV: its close to Tahoe and they have more then enough rock and ice to keep you busy, plus your near the Serrias Flagstaff, AZ: Rock climbing all year around, no ice, sweet canyons, and close to zion, and lots of other desert destinations Grand Juntion, CO: besides durango the only place I would consider living in CO. it is within spitting distance of indian creek and I think it is not to far of a drive to the ice park Boulder is great is you drive a range rover, and love sharing with WANKS, lots of WANKS. New Paltz, NY: Sweet little college town right next to the gunks with some ice, and a little bit of a drive to the Daks which are sick for the EAST. Bosie, ID: Good Rock, close to sawtooths, and they have a bit of ice just ask dean lords. Bozeman, MT: Ice is incomparable, chicks not so great, skiing is sick, single pitch cragging is okay. UNLIMITED alpine arena. Six hour drive from bozeman to: devils tower, city of rocks, salt lake city, lander. 3 hour drive to: cody and jackson wy. Pretty centrally located area to hit up some great areas around the rockies. go for a little road trip and figure out which city fits you the best, because all the rock and ice in the world isn't going to make you happy if the town is full of A-holes, yuppies, traffic, and things like cheap rent, good food, consistent good weather go a long way. Plus have the major you want.
  18. my dad is wondering how old he is?
  19. Did you do the matrix? It looks to be in the same shape except someone knocked off about 2 or 3 feet of the dagger since I did it. There are some bomber tool locks on the rock to the right of the hanger.
  20. Any word?
  21. The more I read and hear about Reardon, the sadder I become knowing that the climbing community lost one of its greats. He may have not been the best climber but it sure sounded like he climbed to have fun and and bring out the best in himeself and the poeple around him. ps. it pisses me off more then it should when all the dopes nay say his accomplishments.
  22. stumptown mixed with cliff bar hot chocolate electrolytes kept us moving
  23. Bill was there still a 2.5 gold friend stuck on the sweet 160ft P3 that Ujahn led of dream of wild turkeys. My buddy stuck that cam of mine almost right where he is in that picture. Did you have a chance to go to the "Out of Control Area"? It is across the canyon from dark shadows. ps: I have a growler to fill up and we should get a pub club together after all the santa craziness is done. I am in PDX until the 10th.
  24. Leave it on it adds friction
