all the people who complain gas/food blah blah is too expensive
-
Yes we want cheap fuel and food, so this is a risk we are willing to take. They will clean it up and we will continue on as is On the bright side of things they will probably close it up twice as fast as the last well blow out, about 4 months instead of 9.

Marks use of the belay sounds like a good way to shock load the system.
-
The ropes descent is controlled by my upwrd force, less force and they stop more and they go faster. Besides why does it matter if you use two hands? Escaping from the belay is fast and easy in a injury situation as well. I dont see the problem of using an auto belay every time you have an appropriate anchor

Dont you just stick your biner in the hole and pull up and lower ?

90% of the time that is the weather...the difficluties in conveying an entire days weather in one icon... today being a perfect example, its going to piss rain this evening could be heavy too.. I chose a sun with heavy rain icon..yet the day is perfectly useable and in fact the entire day is great..but all the public sees is rain with sun...which is correct just not the greatest for planning EC does do forecast discussions, they dont make them public because they asked if the public wanted it and there was no response. Every Canadian who wants more from their weather service should email them, they are listening. I am not allowed to post the discussions but I am happy to answer any questions about the weather forecast cheers

No it hasnt moved since the last high pressure, but little vort lobes being lobbed in are pretty much impossible to time and are magnified in the hills. So I may give a completley dry forecast knowing that the vort maxes will only cause weather in the hills..thats why its best not to rely on a city forecast for the hills in anything less than bomber high pressure
-
1) email EC and tell them they should reinstate the forecast discussion 2) you know if you plan on using the city forecast to go to the mountains you really should take a few minutes to figure out what is going on before taking it verbatim 3) EC does not manipulate past 60 hours so all thst you see past that is pure model output and is just the Canadian one. It was more than obvious that this last weekend was not a weekend to bank on or go to the mountains in, this up coming weekend is the same and you know what the rest of may and the first half of June look exactly the same This weekend, last nights 00z run brought in a a whole bunch of moisture in on Saturday..this mornings 12z run completley backed off on it again...chance of showers see what happens forecast..ahh spring!!

Same way, look at the jet stream, read the nws report for western washington and check those above sites. We have a big low parked off the coast and its going to move across on Friday, weak ridge moves in on the weekend. Strength of that ridge is up for debate as you have noticed in the weather forecasts. Weak front arrives on Monday

[TR] Riglos, Spain - Couple Easy's 5/10/2010
jmace replied to fgw's topic in The rest of the US and International.
Radek, you just keep on keepin on eh...awesome!! I will be back in the dolos this summer for a month! Tim you ever climb the North Face of Vignemale ? I will be in Spain/Pyrenees for a month as well, mainly for motorbike riding but I plan on a few climbs as well... -
Most agree there really is no move harder than 5.9 on the pillar and everyone I have talked to including Jer say no move harder than 10b for the milk run corner... Its May I think everything feels hard, The Grand has a couple 5.11 pitches. Where the road only has one 10d pitch, once it dries out I look forward to giving it a go.

What is the point in having a bi colour rope ? Dont you just coil from the ends any way? If your not using this rope in winter there is no need for dry treatment

Picked up the Nano the other day -9 oz -packed size is about the size of a pair of gloves -DWR -Synthetic -wind proof No Hood though, grab a very lightweight R1 with a hood and you have an awesome spring through fall setup http://www.patagonia.com/web/us/product/patagonia-mens-nano-puff-pullover?slc=en_US&sct=US&p=84020-0-961

Technos!! Second pair, they friction, jam, smear and the most important thing they dont have a weird cup in the heel that all other shoes have that just rides on your achilles, you actually use the lace to tighten it up, so comfy on long routes! Mythos-Too soft Miuras-Take for ever to break in and they tend to form a ripple in the leather near where the tounge is sewn on TC's Why is the tounge sewn in just one spot at the bottom? slides around alot Barracudas-deteriorate very quickly not worth re-soling Syncros-awesome where did they go? Never tried an acopa

Twins climb like a single, there is no reduction in drag. They fit in your pack real nice though

so nice ass wins, its quite basic, we all like to hit it from the rear most of the time so make sense you want to stare at a nice ass.
-
oh, nice, they dropped some off here at my work year before last and then the first gen HD last winter. I didnt realize they had again upgraded. external lcd will be nice!
-
I have used the go pro and go pro HD and I think it has promise but not worth the $$ -no playback screen so who knows what you just shot is good or not so you wasted memory till you get home -archaic UI so almost impossible to remember which setting does what. -camera must be charged on a PC so not sure how you can have spares, the old go pro had removable batteries -Ihad problems with it in the cold on my helmet with battery life. It does however have a great mounting system and a good waterproof case, although I think you cannot press buttons underwater so its only so so for waterproof I have looked at some other cameras and you know can you really go out and buy non HD one...not really.

and now its wet..hahaha...weekend looks like shite too.

You think Vancouver is going to have a hard time with housing prices....next time your here tell me how many bugattis, murcialagos, porches, lambos, R8's, Bentley's to name a few are driving around There will be no bust here, its just gonna cost more and more and more...
