I was out at Beacon as well on Sunday. It was annoying to see the tic marks everywhere. . . I admit, I use chalk - but a huge mark where you should put your hand, foot, etc.. C'mon!

Definately Mtn Soles in PDX. I have taken shoes there so have many of my friends. They also can help customize/fix any other outdoor gear or clothing you may have.

A standard ATC with a Locking biner is what I learned with. Its far less expensive than A Gri Gri. I also know a lot of people that own a reverso. Still less expensive. Just depends on what your looking for.

Thanks, I actually used to live in Boulder and spent a lot of time climbing in RMNP and Boulder, Morrison, Longs Peak, etc. For whatever reason I never really made it to Aspen. Thanks for the advice.. I will look into the Traverse.

I will be in CO for a few days in June and was hoping to go out to the Maroon Bells/ Aspen area. Does anyone know of some good climbing in the area?

Me too, me too... I also have Wednesdays and Fridays off and am able to climb both sport and trad... I also have no car, maybe we could go in together on a flexcar... Just an idea.

I have not seen any other postings about this yet in the events forum but am pretty sure that the annual Smith Rocks Spring Thing is happening the weekend of May 7th and 8th. Its a great opportunity to volunteer your services in the upkeep of the park. Also, every year they have a slide show, beer, and auction to keep it interesting.

Oh, Alder Creek Kayaks might also be a good place to look for used kayaks. My friend used to be the owner of it and now my roommate is working on thier website. I might be able to help out with other contacts as well. Let me know.

Just got back from Tahoe !!! Perfect conditions all weekend long - fresh snow and a blue sky! If anyone is thinking about going they will have a substantial base well into early summer...

Ive been searching for other females to go climbing with! I am ready to start leading trad... Only have a few lead pitches under my belt at this point but am ansty to continue trying! Also, I am interested in upgrading my sport level as well as getting some experience on some glaciers....Please PM me if interested!
