Im a girl and enjoy doing those things too...some of the items that I wouldnt mind getting and thus assume she wouldnt mind either include: new gaitors, ice tools, crampons, soft shell jacket, a cute warm hat, any clothing by prana... You could always pay for a massage, a weekend at the coast or hot springs, climbing gym membership... I have many more ideas....

Who snow plows? Just because I'm from Illinois does not mean I dont know how to use my edges. Besides back home its all about the WATER skiing. Edges, eh? My hip hurts...

First word of advice get a second opinion and an MRI. I tore my ACL and had meniscus damage about 3 years ago and the healing process was a pain in the ass. My doc used a hamstring graft which increases the healing time but if you follow thier orders specifically you will be ready to climb in no time. It all depends how much effort your willing to put into the rehab.

Are there any Ice Climbers in the PDX area willing to teach this gal? I've been out once to Elliot Glacier this summer and loved it and am hoping to get on some water ice this winter... I can get all my own gear just need someone to help teach...
