Thanks Gary! You make me feel like less of a geek today!
  4. I almost hate to say this but I want a real job! Something that you know, actually pays real money, and has shit like time off that I can take when I want to take it! At the moment i'm fucking underemployed and still can't take any 3 day weekends Of course I already got one Christmas Present early! As of tomorrow I will officially be done with college after a mere 10 years, 1 ulcer, and way too much coffee to be good for anyone!

Hell of a thing Muffy! Geat job!
  6. Getting comfortable on sport is all in your head. For most of the bolted lines around here as soon as you've got the 1st or 2nd bolt your out of groudfall (assuming your belayer is attentive) ( haven't been there but have heard Peshastin Pinnacles is a bit sparsely bolted). If your feeling a bit sketched about high first bolts get a stick clip. Beyond that.. don't z-clip (you'll probably do this once), don't backclip (bad form, might be dangerous), and keep your belayer near the base of the route or anchor them in so you dont' extend your fall. Other than that... mileage, exit 38 is good, If we get a warm sunny day the Feathers and Sunshine wall at Vantage are pretty nice and warm. That said.... Screw the bolts and come to dark side! Every one should have their own trad rack! Cracks are like good
  7. Can't make it tomorrow, have unavoidable work that I won't be able to do any other time Have fun though and I should see you next week!

Went up the Salathe? WTF!? If he's clean and diggin it good for him!
  9. Utterly anecdotal, but one of the ladies my wife works with is african american, grew up in the deep south and thinks were fucking nuts, and has absolutely no desire to do something as stupid as climbing ice covered volcanoes. Her family also thinks were fucking nuts. I agree with her so it doesn't bother me too much

So name 5 renaissance-era artists - without recourse to Google.
  11. So what are the likelihoods of Chair and/or Tooth NE slabs being in reasonable condition? Now that i've got tools i'm feeling compelled to try not kill myself with them.

I think how physically attractive men and women are is more closely tied to their health then their age. There are certainly cultures or groups that take things to extremes (indiginous polynesian cultures on one end and the whole heroin chic thing on the other) but in general women who are in the 40's and in good shape physically and mentally are much more attractive then the chicks who are skin and bones at 17 or significantly overweight at 20. Of course as people age they're physical condition often goes to shit but that's a seperate story. In the last 20 years i've watched my dad go from being in great alpine climbing shape, to sporting a pretty good belly, and it has much more to do with activity level than age. So is the average 40 year old more likely to be couchbound and overweight and therefore rathe unattractive? Probably OOps! Almost forgot

Easy for you to say- you're in your meat-eating days and still fuckin hot. Let the rest of us squabble amongst ourselves true...but apparently i've only got a year before gravity overtakes my breasts. Better show em' off now then.
  18. By most accounts climbing Rainer isn't a "fun" climb. From everything i've heard the standard routes are relatively straight forward uphill walks at an altitude roughly 10-12,000 ft above where you live, with a whole 1 night to acclimitize. If your looking to learn to climb, and to have some fun pick some more enjoyable and slightly easier climbs to start with. Baker is good and the Boulder route doesn't see that many people, Sahale is easy and gorgeous, Glacier is a hump in but the scenery is beautiful there will likely be almost no-one there and the Sitkum route is pretty benign. Loads of cool stuff in this area besides Rainer! That said, I haven't been up Rainer yet but am planning on slogging up the Coleman this year

    It's snowing!

    It's sticking in Shoreline too!
  20. The first place I saw them for sale was from Cloudveil, i'm guessing because they're almost perfectly suited to the tetons. They're really at their best when it's dry and cold, shed the wind and the snow and breath fine. Up here in the wet they're still pretty nice htough
  21. "Dry Tooling" is starting to look not so dry
  22. I think we have enough tools for 2 ropes, and i've got an extra set of Grivel G-12's. If you've got your boots and clothes that's probably all that's necessary.
  23. 3:00 again?
  24. So, how do BD Crossbows stack hold up for ski's? It looks like I may have found a reasonable set of boards/bindings Thanks!
  25. Also have two pair and Plus they ditched to stupid stretchy belt thing that they used of have. Does anyone have any slick tricks for getting the fuzzy stuff off soft shell stuff? The pants are in good condition but the knees are covered in nylon fuzz from getting dragged up cracks.
