  1. Uh, you know that women work out in gyms too, right? Stop staring at the dudes. not at 10 pm at night. that's the only time I can head out there when I drive. got a family (dinner together, bedtime stories, etc)
  2. I question whether it's cheaper; definitely not faster. I take 48 minutes on avg to bike a 30 min drive commute. But it is healthier and a good way to cut gasoline usage. In a way, you are still saving time b/c you don't have to spend as much time working out. I think you are coming out ahead no matter what yes true. This way I get a 1:45 min cardio workout (round trip) twice a week. If I drove, I'd spend another 1:30 per day getting to and from a gym with a 1 hr cardio workout staring at some dude's fat ass in front of me in a hot stuffy room. In short, more cardio, less road rage, less hot, smelly, boring gyms. And I need all the cardio I can get so I can haul my old, fat ass up glaciers.
  3. I question whether it's cheaper; definitely not faster. I take 48 minutes on avg to bike a 30 min drive commute. But it is healthier and a good way to cut gasoline usage. Also, some of these drivers DO see cars passing them when backed up at red lights and get PISSED by this. A co-worker told me he used to have irate drivers open their passenger door to block him as he passed cars backed up at lights along Ballinger Way. WTF??
  4. The I-90 trail is awesome. Much better than driving through Bellevue. I miss it. You can fly going down one end of the bridge and get a good crank going up the other. Lots of nice parks to bike through, fresh spring smells... blackberries in the late summer/early fall...
  5. "I love it when a plan comes together".
  6. So true. I'll never go back.
  7. I usually try to bike twice a week. Now my team is pressuring me to do more so we have a better standing in the contest (we're around 100th now).
  8. Yeah like Lost In Space? Warning Will Robinson!!! Lost in Space
  9. Anyone else participating in the 2007 Group Health Commute Challenge ? http://www.cbcef.org/contest/btw_report_tripsdaysmiles.cfm?contest=8&teamtype=grponly&rsort=7&session=8%3E%2D%21P%2CF%5DKVI%24%3CWE%2A%260KY86%26%3F%27%5F%2DEX4CT3%7E%7E%21%7E%7E Cool idea, and a lot of fun...
  10. that may well be, but that does not dis prove that humans are part of nature. I'll bet someone could get funding to try to disprove this though... Well, yeah. I mean, nature is dirt and stuff, whereas we're all made in God's image. Ergo, God is a Bellevue housewife on a taun taun with an urgent breast implant appointment. It makes sense, right? I think about this kind of stuff a lot. I've been in Bellevue quite often, and am wondering where you see all these Hausfrauen with fake titties. Of course I lived in SoCal for 5 years, so maybe that's dulled my senses.
  11. that's a theory; not a fact.
  12. But of course... say plus or minus a few millenia.
  13. Yes, we are due for an ice age, and it may still happen irrespective of CO2 emissions. Making an unqualified statement that the former would have occurred already due to the latter as if it were an incontrovertible fact is simply an arrogant and assinine statement - typical of our local Besserwisser.
  14. once again the self-professed "expert" on all matters speaks definitively
  15. Thanks Mike - your web site ROCKS!
  16. Is it necessary to make reservations for any of the routes *other than* those from Muir/Shurman? I'm considering a run up Fuhrer Finger in June and wonder if it is worth the cash and trouble to reserve some spots.
  17. ...by someone other than me. Hows the recruitment process going, KKK? There's still time to do your part in all this evil but 'necessary' warfare. FOAD, Trashie. Go troll somewhere else
  18. wang dang sweet poontang
  19. people
  20. That's nice, but try that at one of the many supercomputer sites in the world and you'll be out on the street before you can realize what happened. That is, if they don't burn you as an example to the others first. rm -rf /*.f
  21. to avoid facing any kind of truth other than the one they are spoon fed by thier peers, media and society. critical thinking is a thing of the past.
  22. SED? WTF? Talk about retro-technology. :-O
  23. nope. what I'm saying is as usual things are done in the wrong order. when the money and will runs out on this project, the "extension" may never happen. then we'll have a line serving commuting needs in a suboptimal manner. in the interim those commuting the I5 corridor from Seattle north suffer w/o relief, and possible indefinitely
  24. Nope. They should build the rail where it's needed most first.
