I only did it 4 times before I quit and moved on. How long did you stick with it?

  4. I saw a cougar one time.
  5. Hey G-Spotter... What do you think of the French guy? I heard him on Cross-Country Check Up on the CBC. He speaks green talk.
  6. Waiting on the new Fountains of Wayne release...
  7. I think Hendrix is winning in this debate. I've already offered my opinion: Hendrix ...hands down. But what about Jeff Beck? Not a contender for most influential ...but definitely influential in his own right. I'd argue that he stands out for creative vision and the ability to marry jazz improvisation and rock. Also, his solos were really lyrical and propelled the song. What was Beck's best album? Blow by Blow? How about that song "Going down". Wasn't that album The Jeff Beck Group? Are you younger guys familiar with Beck?
  8. I think that's the answer I was looking for. Thanks Roboboy.
  9. What should I do with my old vinyl LPs? Should I keep them? Should I sell them on EBay? Should I get one of those turntables with a direct USB cable and record them to digital, then sell them? Seems like I've been carting them around and storing them for twenty years! Any advice?
  10. Good one, Dru... Sonny Sharrock John Fahey Ry Cooder Joseph Spence Richard Thompson
  11. We can debate mainstream guitarists all day. How about fringe pickers? David Lindley Steve Hunter (on Lou Reed's Rock and Roll Animal) Larry Carlton (Steely Dan's Reelin' in the Years Harvey Mandel others?
  12. Well I guess a lot of beginning guitar artists do play that Smoke on the Water lick... that's Blackmore, not Iommi Shows what I know. In my defense, I was never much of a Black Sabbath fan. It was always hard for me to take seriously any guitarist sharing a stage with Ozzy Osbourne.

  14. Not necessary, survey the critical rock press and I think you'll find it more or less universally acknowledged. Hendrix was it. Hendrix was a genius because the possibility of the electric guitar took a quantum leap in his hands. He didn't just play fast ...he created the sounds. It's impossible ...maybe even frightening to imagine where he would have taken the music.
  15. The correct answer is Jimi Hendrix.
  16. Wow. Ouch. Depressing. Pathetic.
  17. Help! I need ankle hinge parts for my Raichle Flexon Comp alpine ski boots. Please contact me if you have an old pair around that you'd be willing to part out. THANKS!!
  18. Get a Ruger .44 magnum Super Blackhawk. The weight dampens the recoil nicely, and if anybody fucks with you, you can say, "Go ahead... Make my day."

  20. Explain It has to do with the responsibility of the Mountaineers to teach no trace travel and camping if they are going to introduce numbers of new recreational users into the sport. This guy was shirking his responsibility in my view. Even though he forgot his Thermarest, he should have made an uncomfortable bed on the snow in his partner's tent, using his pack and spare clothing under him. Instead, he trashed the heather, and set a very poor example for the newbies. He actually took it well, was sheepish, and I ended up getting invited to make a presentation in Seattle. I think it was the happiest ending of any of the few citations I issued...
  21. Yeah, well the Tool is actually usually slow to cite, because it's generally preferred to gain voluntary compliance, and to use the visitor contact as an opportunity to educate users about no trace travel and camping. There are certainly exceptions, like the tool that cited me in Shenandoah. I brought no attitude, but he didn't hesitate to paper me. I deserved it. I was young and green but I knew better. Most park visitors are eager to do the right thing, especially folks that take the time and effort to get to a Boston Basin or a Sulfide Ridge.
