  1. That would make it exactly like the Garmont Tower. Only heavier. BUT it's supposed to be a shiny light blue color, which of course makes it worth the extra weight .
  2. PM brand/size if they're yours. BTW, they're drying out nicely after the rain and hail they endured yesterday .
  3. No more stealing my clothes, d00d!
  4. My dad and I climbed the North Ridge in a day last weekend. The fresh snow up high made for super nice going, though I'm sure it's melted off by now. We wore tennis shoes the entire way (didn't bring crampons) without a problem. However, another team that climbed the route was too sketched to descend it so they headed down the South Side and hitched back to their car. We had lots of fun though!
  5. What? You had clothing on the approach/deproach?! On second thought, that's good, I was thinking that the nude bicycling would be the least fun part of the trip .
  6. It's closed due to forest fires in the area. Updates are availabe at GPNF . The site also has a couple of phone numbers you can call for current conditions.
  7. SSSSMMMMIIIIFFAAAYYYY!
  8. My guess is that glassbonghits is iain, while 007 is Dru.
  9. I fully believe that you absolutely cannot match Pandora..... When it comes to eating ice cream. Yeah, but who can?
  10. I think summit registers are part of the fun of topping out. It's always neat to look through and recognize the names of people who have climbed the peak before you, whether they are friends or first ascensionists. I usually get a good laugh at what some people write, so for me the registers add to the experience instead of detracting from it.
  11. Now THERE'S a real woman.
  12. Nice work d00d. You guys sound super tough.
  13. Is it me or do you look like a Catholic priest missing his neck collar? And where are your hands??
  14. I like it. It's certainly the prettiest rope burn I've ever seen.
  15. Patxi Usobiaga. So was that the third ascent?
  16. Or we could just climb?
  17. troll troll troll
  18. I climbed the C/D with my dad August 31-September 1 in 2002. The route was basically a series of end-runs around crevasses, and the Roman Headwall was a sheet of ice. We had a close call descending that icy section, so be very cautious if it's in that condition when you go up.
  19. Me too
  20. Ohhh I gotcha, thanks for the info, Dru.
  21. The original photo isn't showing up...what was happening with the glacier in the pic?!
  22. What mountain is this? Looks like some real high-quality scree. Dru's right...it's Rainier, the northwest side. Observation Rock is on the left in the photo. CC and I tried the Edmunds Headwall this weekend but bailed a third of the way up the face.
