....is more likely than the Astros winning?

Way to crap your own thread. Bush speaking intelligibly.... -
Is this similar to a training Bra For small heads not used to the discomfort and not needing the support of a fall on toque.

Two guys are walking down the street and they bump into an old friend. The friend invites them to a party the coming weekend and explains that it is a costume party where the guests are supposed to dress as certain feeling. One of the guys looks confused and asks "like sadness or happiness?" The friend replies "yes" and they are on their way. That weekend the two guys walk up to the party and knock on the door. The old friend opens the door with an offended look on her face. The first guy has a pear covering his genitals and the second guy has a bowl of custard covering his. The old friend asks "what the hell is wrong with you guys?" They reply "we heard this was a feelings party. I'm Deep in Dispair, and I'm Fucking Disgusted".

Is this another one of those regressive shark vs bear threads? -
I think Dru's excitement to get this done really lead to a lackluster performance. Better luck tomorrow when.....

I think a less dramatic shot would be more beleivable. The before and after shots need to be very different to avoid suspicion. I would reccomend something along the lines of: OMG, I was just searching through BBC.com and heard that a number of Pakistani summits had been toppled in the recent earthquake. The only photo they had was this one of the trango towers. Does anyone have an older photo to compare to?

I've got it now. It was horrible saturday, but manageable yesterday and today. Showed up on Wednesday night I beleive.

Guess I better watch what I say. Big brother is watching.

I think the pics are really nice for finding single pitch routes and identifying crag. For me at least, the line topos really shine on longer routes where route finding could be an issue. For example, I think doing orbit with just Viktor's new book and no other beta would be pretty difficult. But then again maybe I am not adventurous enough.

This is very sad. I used google to translate, but it is not perfectly clear http://translate.google.com/translate?u=...Flanguage_tools -
I would reccommend the only current guide book for leavenworth "Leavenworth Rock" by V. Kramar. Available in town at either sporting goods store I beleive. Also available at REI and other climbing shops on your drive down.

The S80 looks awesome! A little bigger and more expensive than the ultra compacts, but sounds like it is an excellent camera for the size.

The new olympus stylus 8 MP is water resistant, meaning it has rubber gaskets and stuff, but cant actually be used under water like the pentax. I beleive it has a view finder and gets good reviews. I also would no be too concerned about batteries as the technology has gotten way better in recent years. Another option I noticed the other day is that you can buy optically clear zip-lockesque bags where any camera can be made relatively waterproof. Supposedly image quality remains good.

The route in that thread was an uber-thin seam. What happens when a climb is impossible to protect without plugging good jams? I think that is one situation where a comment such as this is semi-valid. On a sport climb or infinitely protectable splitter IMO it is more of a mute point.

Funny, because the "make him think my idea is his idea" is about the most useful tactic I have for getting a long with my professor. Most requests for money or something start with "remember how you were saying/thinking....."

Pakistan: Snow Lake 2005
TrogdortheBurninator replied to summitseeker's topic in The rest of the US and International.
Looks like chair peak and the other Snoqualmie pass peaks have a lot more snow than I'd expect this time of year. Seriously though, it looks beautiful! -
It is my understanding that the national labs have gotten more rigorous in their work loads in recent years. If you don't mind working on defense type projects they are definitely a good avenue for performing basic research without being involved in academia.

Chemistry is for ChemEs that can't do math and would prefer to make $20,000 less out of school.

There actually is a small NSF push looking at EBDM (Environmentally Benign Design and Manufacture). As of now, this is a relatively small research area, but hopefully also one that will grow. Many companies, have adopted significantly greener practices in the US, however it is their sister facilities in developing nations that require considerably more stringent requirements. This is a global phenomena, and aside from blaming the US' significantly larger auto use, I do no not think our domestic manufacturing organizations are the cheif culprit you implied in you statement.

Went to RC yesterday and climbed "Render Us Weightless" (5.8) among others. This has to one of the coolest single pitch trad climbs I've ever done. Just wanted to put out my recommendation for a great moderate route if you're in the area. BTW, I started the route via the OW, which IMO is only so so. The route can also be started via "Double Trouble", which we also climbed, and I would suggest as a more fun although slightly easier variation start. We also climbed Inca Roads, which is some damn hard, but damn good 5.9 climbing.
