The only advice I've got here is to make sure you try all these drinks out before an important climb... not on the climb. I tried experimenting with allot of these protien drinks and found they made me feel like throwing up at any altitude/exertion level. Gatorade seems to be the only thing that sits well at any altitude for me. However, I know plenty of people that swear by the fancier stuff too w/o my reaction.

I don't know, I had had friends fly up to climb 3 different times when I was in the PNW and I was pretty blunt with them on weather, climbing and expensive plane tickets. They were cool when I told them before the trip that i didn't give a fuck about how much they paid for the ticket and it that it wouldn't influence a or a for the climbs. First trip we never even left Seattle. Second, bailed at 12k and 3rd was a perfect weekend on Baker. All three weekends were fun as hell anyway. I think it helps if you all decide before hand what the limits should be and stick to them when you get there. Having a fun fall back plan helps quell the summit fever problem too.

stfu mr doomsday. Agreed. The poor guy might "just" have a bad concussion. Being hostile and difficult is a classic symptom but I'm far from an expert on that shit. Plus the fact that he is still alive after nearly 2 days is a good sign too that he'll make it til monday. Good luck, guys.

If you remove the sherpas from the climb, remove your p whipped horny factor for her and say this was a self supported private climb of Everest... Dude, my hat is off to her. She got to climb a peak I doubt I'll ever have the spare cash to climb but would love to have a go at it. If you have read her posts and seen her pics then you should realize she sets herself up for allot of trash talk that goes on here. As far as "She went out, got the money,"...yeah she paid her dues there... Her grandma met some rich,horny chilean banker in first class on a plane and granny probably showed him a pic of her and she was on the team with no climbing experience and fully sponsored...wow, what perseverence. Inspirational. If she was a guy or some butt ugly girl she wouldn't be there, ya know? So,yup, it pisses me off too but ,hey, she got the Big E. Gotta respect that... I disagree about Powell. I think he has "taken one for his country" so to speak in an effort to be a voice of reason in this fucked up White House...but he's found out that The Jackass doesn't listen to anyone with a brain. He's shown a great deal of professionalism by not trashing Jackass publicly even though he'd love too, I'm sure. The guy is a pro and a soldier trying to do his best for the country with an idiot for a boss/commander. I agree on the McCain/Powell idea. It would be a welcome relief to have two intelligent,principled people in charge of the country.
