  1. Extremo! From the camera angle on that first video, I thought the guy was going to be a grease spot on the side of the cliff.
  2. "Where's my money bitch...ahhh....there it is. Now...back to the streets of Vancouver with ya! Oh ya, and see if you can sell this piece rebar to a tourist for me.. "
  3. Or, try blowing your cookies. I haven't had this problem yet, but I've always tried to be regular about it, so it must be working.
  4. I don't think anyone will argue that climbing actually helps the environment, but if you want something positive, the focus what what organizations like the Access Fund are doing, or what certaining activist climbers are doing to ensure preservation and management of popular areas. Its about responsible land use and shiz (notice how I cleverly disguised the colorful language in hip slang).
  5. A couple of these and a couple of these and we've got ourselves an inflatable pubclub!
  6. Napoleon Dynamite!
  7. Ya...me too! Sincerely yours, KuddlKat

    5000 for Mr E

What is really sad is that you've read every one of those 5000 posts.
  10. Kola, I'm corresponding with Flatlander1 , and if he ends up not buying it, you're next in line. This particular watch does have fully functional capablity that you can utilize to tell time, altitude, and barometric pressure and all that stuff that it does. It uses a standard battery that you can change yourself. I believe the battery will actually last a long time with this model because it doesn't have a compass to eat up the battery. Your dowry is enticing, but I gotta give Flatlander1 a chance to buy it first because he contacted me first. Love, Olyclimber
  11. If you're looking to live next to a great ice cream cone shop, then you'll want to live in West Seattle and the Husky Deli. West Seattle is probably the cheapest of all the neighborhoods in Seattle to live in. West Seattle, historically, has produced some of the top climbers of the USA. 5 out of 7 people prefer West Seattle.
  12. Going from 6.1 billion humanoids (year 2000) to 9 billion humanoids in the next 50 years is going to result in more climbers. This coupled with the polar icecaps melting, which drives us all to higher ground, make me think there probably isn't too much to be done about it. May be we could buy up all the guide books and burn them.
  13. What are the GPS coordinates?
  14. My liners were preformed as well. I did try it as demostrated in the video, and I did get a better fit. One thing that I don't have that works much better is a convection oven (not an element type oven). I think I got a reasonable fit, and I think it is possible to use this method to fit the liners. However, after speaking with the people at Intuition, I may actually take my liners into Feathered Friends here in Seattle. The people at Intuition have seen that video (I mentioned it to them, and they had already seen it). They didn't recommend doing it yourself, but I'm not sure exactly what they objected to in the video. I may go into FF and get them fit just to be on the safe side. I can let you know if I end up with a much better fit going this route that what I got doing it myself.
  15. SeaChickens Braaaaaawwwkk!
  16. This is sold. Thanks. black Suunto Altimax for sale or trade. In great shape. Only 3 months old. $80 -altimeter -barometer -also, it tells time and other cool stuff full description here. For trade, tell me what you got. I'm looking for smaller cams/tcus. Or I'll trade it for $80 cash.
  17. The official rules.
  18. To include the following: -Mountain Profile: Ama Dablam The Matterhorn of the Himalaya has been serenading climbers ever since they’ve been walking past it en route for Everest. Michael Kennedy provides the overview, while Dr. Michael Ward, Jeff Lowe, Yvan Estienne, Sergey Bogomolov and Rich Cross give first-hand accounts of climbing on the most beautiful mountain in the world. -Puff the Magic Climber: Loda Bohl America smokes dope. Climbers smoke dope. But how do they perform when stoned? Join us in our errant quest for knowledge on this most hazy of subjects. -The Way: Steve House When America’s finest alpinist went searching for balance, he had no idea the journey would consume him. It could only end when he came out the other side. -Love Stinks: Alison Cerney Climbers smell. Sometimes that’s a good thing. -The Totem Pole: Eric Bjornstad Climbers mark their passage on desert towers by inscribing the summit registers. A celebration of a vertical art form. -Squamish: Peter Croft Squamish lies at the epicenter of Canadian rock climbing, and no Canadian has been shaped by it like Peter Croft. One of the era’s great forces reflects on his formative years on Canadian granite.
  19. This only goes up to 1997, but is an interesting historical and educational resource, Unsettling Events , fatalities on Mt. Rainier. A bit morbid though.
  20. I see an accident on 5/29 of 2002 ( description here) , and there was a heli evac on 5/30 2001 ( link here). . They apparently lost a bunch of their gear in an avalanch on the 28th. I haven't seen any info of anyone dying on the date you mention.
  21. My guess is that the upgraded the CMS, and are still updating things that are broken by the upgrade (like the method for donating money to the site). I'm sure they'll get around to fixing it at some point.
  22. Lets go.
  23. If you want an example of a climbing resume, just type "climbing resume" in google. You'll get all sorts of results. If you're looking for someone on this website who climbs, then they probably aren't going to answer, because they're out climbing. If you're looking for a poser, well maybe you can troll one by asking for climbing resumes.
  24. That is freaking amazing to watch. A huge river of snow. Note to self: Avalanche course
