Definite for all those who submitted great shots. Hey is it me or are there some pictures that are in this that never appeared in the photo contest call thread? -
Yeah it is free, but they are going to have a boat load of advertising which basically means they would have to pay me to show up.

Amazing. Can I come visit you and your family? Sure why not, but be forewarned flying for more than 24 hours costs a pretty penny.

Once again blazing through the villages though this time on very technical 1500 foot descent downhill run hitting speeds around 40-50 mph, saw the blur of kids along the trail jumping out of the way while hissing at them to catch there attention (hissing is something that is commonly done even in resturants). When I stopped they all came out of the wood work, I sat on the ground while some of the kids who saw me blaze by retold the story of the musazi muzungu (crazy whitey), pedaling like mad, jumping and going faster than motorcyles. Then I climbed up the hill and did another run complete with rock drops while the village below were watching and cheering. People on the trail were giving me the sign that I can't pass that way on a bike. After I did, they would exclaim "Eh, eh eh eh...". Good times, I need a helmet cam I think.

Remember the strange bird-like laughing noise she made while cutting him up? I loved that movie. Yeah her laugh was like a small innocent childs laugh while she was horrifically cutting pieces of him off. Have you seen any other of the directors films? It looked like it was quite different than other work he has done, most of his other stuff was more Japanese mafia movies. I only seen previews.
-
Yeah you won't want to see any of the films I mentioned. NBK I found very humorous and I laughed most of the way through it, unlike the other films I mention. Great sound track to that movie.

ken4ord replied to kweb's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
An ex had problem with back pain for as long as I knew her and tried everything to eliveate the pain. Finally her doctor said as a last resort she could have L5-S1 lumbar fusion. Everything worked out for her she was able to return to her activities cycling and backpacking. -

Oh I just saw this crazy Japanese horror film that was quite disturbing. It is about this older guy who lost his wife and feels it is time to meet another nice woman to marry. He meets this beautiful woman and they fall in love, but then things start get real mess up after she disappear on a romantic weekend. He searches for her and starts discovering all weird place and people she has told him about, which confuses him even more about her where abouts. At the end she has paralizes him and opens up a case with black plastic apron which is sort of S&M like, but it get sick with her sawing her husbands limbs off with a wire after sweet innocent smile the whole. While she is doing this they are flashing through her life being tortured, beaten and humiliated, very creepy and disturbing. I wish I can remember the name of the movie. All of those films that were in the link list, I didn't find as disturbing these I have mentioned.

My favorite messed up scenes are: Harvey Kietel in the Bad Luetenant, hell there was so many f-ed scenes in that movie. One of the screwed up ones is when he masturbating in front of a couple of teen age girls that he pulled over. Freaking creepy. The other movie is Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet, the gas mask huffing scene is quite disturbing. The all time fucked movie, since all of the scenes are screwed up is Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer. When I got done watching that movie I felt sick. I think these movies are horrific, because you could imagine that this fucked up shit has really happened or could happen. Unlike movies like alien all the blood and guts shit doesn't bother me too much it seem fake and the likelyhood of aliens running around is pretty low.

Hey RumR maybe I have to beat to death a route sometime. In the past I have viewed cragging like AK, that it was training for the mountains, though I do really enjoy good cragging days. I always found it hard working a route, mainly because I found it boring mentally and really enjoyed getting mileage in rather pushing myself. Lately though, now that I have a bouldering wall in the backyard, I find myself able to work problems sometimes months before a send, so maybe I am in a better space to work a route. Now-a-days I also find myself maybe racing the age clock like Joeseph and thinking there is still things I want to do out there. I agree that climbing should be fun, which it is, whenever I am out doing it whether it be cragging, bouldering, alpine, ice, whatever, it is all good. To me I am not necessarily chasing numbers, but what I saw early on is if I could climb 5.12 cragging then I could surely get on alpine 11's, which mean way more terrain available to climb. Also the great exposure on hard alpine climbs appealed to me as well. -

Definetly my weight hold me back, I am bordering Clydesdale weighing in at 195. Even when I was 15 less I still couldn't break into the 11's fully. -
WTF, he looks like he is a zombie!

Hmm this is funny I just going to post something concerning age and climbing hard. RumR is always going off about climbing 5.12 is not that hard, but I am always left thinking, "what hell is he talking about 5.12 is not hard and anybody can do it???". I have been climbing for 17 years and I never been able to pull a 5.12 and I have only managed a single handful of 5.11's. There has been times of being a climbing bum, and still I never seem to progress further than a few 11's sends. So what gives, am I not driven enough? Hell I work out quite a bit, 3-2 hour long bouldering sessions a week, 2-3 mountain bike rides a week. I feel like that is quite a bit considering I working about 50 hours a week and trying to raise a child. I also know I like good food and good drink, is that is what is holding me back? Am I too old? Well manboy's friend is older than I but obviously in way better shape. Is he one of the few mutants out there? Or can anybody get that strong? It impressive seeing that picture and definitely give me some hope of getting stronger. Ideally, well my dream, when I was younger and new to the sport was to lead 5.12 trad, but I am just not seeing it happen. I have been stuck maxing out in 10 land for so long, sometimes I feel like I would be happy to just hold onto climbing at that level, but still dream that I can get stronger. -
Fuck yeah, that looks like a great party!!!

I have Stubai's and they are pretty rugged. I also have a pair of Grivel Aluminum crampon, they have more agressive points which are more useful if you encounter some ice. I also like anti-balling plates on them. As for the foot wear, I hardly ever wear boots and prefer sneaker, but this mainly cause I am not so interested in glacier travel and prefer to be on the rock.
-
Second that. I have also used them for ice as well though they don't climb as good as my step ins. Also going light you will not want to wear boots and strap-ons are the only thing you are going to get attach to sneakers.

diet, mountaineering, and bogus rock climber?

Hey Kurt, get in the pool. There is all kinds of things that you can do in the pool that are safe, but still a good work out. When I was recovering from knee surgery, I was doing pool work outs even though I hate swimming. There is all kinds of resistance floats that you can be used. One I really liked, mainly cause I thought it was was funny as hell, was putting on a float belt strapped to the wall and float paddles on my hands and feet and running in the water. Kick board is also a really good work out as well. Also I would think that working out on Nautilus equipment would be pretty safe. Also it might be worth while to get some small dumbells for you walk, you know like the power walkers use, yeah I know ghey but at least it is something. Those recumbant cycle machine in the gym might work for an aerobic exercise that is low impact and pretty since you are seated. -
That is fucking nutty!! Yeah the bar is set and I am sure people the line is really short for those wanting to top it.
