  1. Jamin--I rarely tell people that they are in over their heads, since getting schooled and "epicing" are important parts of the learning curve, but... take the advice you are receiving in this (and other) threads and reconsider your plans.
  2. NYC is a good date. he doesn't complain about endless belay sessions or bivying in the car. i saw a smidgeon of ice at Indian yesterday, but it is most definately not climbable.
  3. Preview from YouTube. 2guWbO0Z_Hc
  4. what did you see saturday?
  5. i think the new OP screws are better than BD. they bite faster and go in easier. AND you can clip 2 biners into the hanger.
  6. Climbed it two days ago. it's in, but sun rotted at the top.
  7. spokane is an hour further east and the best bet for safe multi-night parking. find a nice looking neighborhood and go for it. PM me if you want ideas.
  8. looks fatter than last season! nice work craig.
  9. not that i've heard of, but i bet some exists.
  10. I think some of the routes will stay up during this spell of warm weather.
  11. yea, don't go there. the ice sucks. NYC007, pup_on_the_mountain, dbconlin, (Steve-o), and I definately didn't have a good time at all. More Banks Ice and routes to the left. all are good. Steve following "steps to 50 foot pillar". can we rename this route? come on...
  12. let me know if you need a partner. I've got a couple other lines i'm looking at...
  13. Bluewood is way more than 100 miles. I've heard about some ice in the Sawtooths, but don't have anymore beta than that. some other SE WA/Inland NW beta: http://cub.wsu.edu/wsualpine/local.asp (ice at the bottom)
  14. if you need a partner, shoot me a PM...
  15. yea. see you there. w00t.
  16. whoever's going down there this season: let me know and I'll come down and ski with you (or at least try to). just like Timmay says, I heart the wallowas too.
  17. how can I get a copy of/see this video?
  18. I use a Sony miniDV camcorder for most of my video. Some shots from from the Canon S2 camera. Adobe Premier to edit. "Borrow" music from friends to make the soundtrack. A tripod is a worthwhile investment (or make sure your camera operator has a stable hand). They are invaluable if you want to speed up the footage later. a trip to the Fin in Idaho (definately not my best work, but the most recent). cPKevjQlj4w
  19. nope. behind the liquor store.
  20. 4 of us climbed some "obscure" ice in Pullman tonight! WI 3+
  21. true. even the old CFBP heads fit on new tools.
  22. Park in the lot by Leavenworth Mountain Sports and fire up the laptop. The library is free, but the librarians can be a bit grouchy if you go in there a lot.
  23. Right click --> save as http://www.uiaa.ch/web.test/visual/Safety/SafComdownloads/Karabiner%20breakings%20with%20figure8.pdf
  24. photos with captions... http://www.nps.gov/mora/parknews/upload/floodPP.pdf
  25. nice photos and notes that give a scale of the aftermath. http://www.nps.gov/mora/parknews/upload/floodPP.pdf
