Actually, she tied in with a bowline. And I have created a clusterfuck by pulling a single figure-8 up to the chains. So I lead a climb right next to it, and managed to get the rope down. I don't want to do that again, though!

The alp wing is too long, handle is too small, Easy-G leash too nasty. I like BD. Poons: I've got the G-12. Nice, but the secondary points are a bit long. Again, hard to screw up a basic poon. Screws: The 360's don't seem to bite very well, and you really can't rack them, though they once they bite it's easy to place em. Also, the hanger/crank is so heavy they tend to lever out of the ice when you are trying to get them to bite. I go with BD.

Ursa, I think the Mounties and Mazamas suck because of their attitudes, because they tend to occupy routes for hours, and because their posturing. Plus it's fun to ridicule people for carrying 70lbs up to the Tooth. I tend to have a problem with large groups, period, it's not just the Mounties. They're just somewhat worse. Ridiculing people for roping up on a snowfield isn't just because they are mounties. I remember someone getting flamed becuase they top-roped a snowbank in the parking lot. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. But groups still suck.
