  1. We're just following our role model: Trask.
  2. Frank Zappa was a musician of some renown, viewed by some as a great composer, and was fairly popular. At age ten, Beethoven, a fairly well-known composer himself, was tearing shit up on the piano. Clearly, anything a ten-year-old lad can accomplish is unremarkable, and thus we can rest assured that composing music is kinderspiel. Buenas noches, Poop; and bone swah to Dwayno as well. DFA you crack me up.
  3. Dwayner, if freeing El Cap isn't 'trad' enough for you, then you have never climbed in your life. Crawl back into your hole and cry about the current state of ethics.
  4. Mr. Dragon, whoever you may be, Andy Kirkpatrick is one of Britain's best alpinists, who tends to write unbiased reviews. He also has a lot of connections to people in the outdoor industry, and hence I am much more likely to believe what he says/writes than what an overzealous sleeping bag rep spouts. I'm not his "agent", mr defensive, and never claimed to be. I read his reviews, and when possible I have checked his claims, and so far, all have been correct. For that matter, why should I believe you? Perhaps you work at REI and need to impress potential customers with your brand new, $700 bag of "1100" fill down that weighs 1 lb and is rated at -50 degrees. Too bad that down is 700 fill, the bag is 4 pounds, and the rating is 20 degrees. I'm skeptical of any manufacturer's claims, and those of reps spraying on internet message boards. Why should I believe you? As for 1000 fill-power down, I call BS. Though your is amusing, back up your claims.

  6. I find that working out on a stairmaster or the like is best for releasing anger. Technical stuff rarely does it.

Sorry Trask, I meant to write "Dru" in the above post. You Caveman, you still suck.
  8. But stay away from the Mounties!

Funny how Trask is insulting his avatar....lame. Caveman, you suck.
  10. Dru, I've got the Rage. It does NOT feel heavier than the Quark. Charlet Moser sucks anyways, with those stupid aluminum heads.
  11. Oh, and get off your soapbox. You sound like an idiot. PS Alison, calm down, get a nice scale and weigh everything yourself. Or buy WM.
  12. Dear Mr. Marmot Person: I have read several reviews about sleeping bags, and sleeping bag fills, by people who know what they are talking about. Andy Kirkpatrick says that 900 fill down is a myth, and that testing results differ from lab to lab. And it is well know that fill ratings are only accurate to a few percent. But fill powers aren't my beef. While I don't believe the vast majority of manufacturer claims, as most are false, I don't like the fact the manufacturers can't give decent weights for their producst. While it sounds like a shameless plug, Golite is the only one who gives reasonably accuarate weights. Get all huffy now. I don't buy Marmot for a variety of reasons.
  13. So, Lummox, tell us when the Price Glacier was skied. 1972?
  14. Canary seemed kinda interesting for 5.8. But I think it used to be 5.7, so maybe I'm just weak.

    Who sent what?

CLIMBING is a stupid pasttime. Spraying, on the other hand, seems much better accepted.
  17. Just don't buy a gaper harness.

Old people can't stand young people having fun....look at your parents!
  19. If it were easy they'd call it alpine climbing.
  20. And an inflatable partner, at this rate it'll be the only one you'll have....
  21. Except for the fact that 900 fill down is a myth....
  22. Nope, 7oz on a 3lb sleeping bag isn't uncommon. You won't get an answer. Just take a scale when you go shopping. It's doesn't help when you use long sleeping bags, XL clothes, 14 boots, etc. Gets heavy fast.
