I am curious, I have seen cited on this site(test pieces for the grade) and all over the internet Light on the Path as Smith being graded at 10a. The guidebook refers to it as .9 though. I have climbed it many times, and partners of mine have as well. We have all though of it as a 9, so what gives?

those are some great shots. Especially the first, to show the ne couloir, and the east face in one shot is impressive. I have always been intrigued by the elegance of the east face of middle.

If the holds were to be patented, based on specific mass produced structure, that would mean hundreds of patents. it takes months if not years to get one patent, so I can't see how any of these companies would be able to compete in the market with patents.

Is there ice nearby Vail is fucking sweet for ice. Check www.climbingboulder.com This site rocks, and is a great resource for meeting fellow climbers in Colorado. I am sure you have heard of climbs such as the FANG, which as of 3 weeks ago was looking phat. In fact all the ice along the I-70 cooridor was looking awesome from Idaho Springs to Glenwood Springs. But temps fluxuate drastically, so who knows now, check the site

Weather shows a break on Shasta for Thursday, and Friday morning. Jet stream is on the Canadian border, so winds will be lower than usual, should be a grea ttime for a winter ascent. Plus avy danger and snowpack has stabilized drastically in the past 3 days. WHOS IN leave thursday afternoon, sleep bunny flats till about 11:00, and then climb thursday night into friday for a one day ascent

I used to live in logan, and can say that the steepest mountian range on earth is the wellsville's just west of town. Good hiking off the pass, and then ride to the valley, and hitch hike back up. Lots of good stuff everywhere around logan, up near beaver mountain. Never been into the unitah's in winter, but one can only imagine. cheers

FREE!!!!!! Transceiver Clinic. Next Saturday, December 20th. Meet at the Fifth Season at 9am. Dress warm as the clinic will be up at Bunny Flat. Bring your shovel, probe and transceiver, or use one of our demo’s. See you there! For those who came to our last clinic, we will work on deeper burials and/or multiple burials at the next clinic. Here is a solution for newbie's not knowing how to use transcievers. mt. Shasta

yeah, The road is passable, but a high clearance vehicle is needed. Shit, after the last days snow, maybe it isn't passable anymore? Went in on snowshoes, should've skiied, as no climbing of any sort was to be had. I had the trail marked in on my GPS, so easy to follow, plus I've been that way many a time before. But the neon pink tree markers are still up from last season, so relatively easy to follow. Good experience breaking a new tent in though. lets get after it as soon as the avy lessens, and the weather brightens.

Very well said. Reading should provide insight, into separate perceptions from our own. So the reflection in the pond may be someone elses that we are seeing. However this may help you realize a better form of yourself.
