  1. ChucK, you're almost as much of a moron as our unfortunate leader. "it's OK to lie to keep the democrats out of control of the country" "we should lie about the budget" "we don't need to count it in our budget until after we've already spent it" "it's a war, and we shouldn't worry about cost" it's almost amusing, really
  2. Good luck at finding a new route on that mountain. The route you described earlier is West Crater Rim, and it's not exactly an unpopular route. People see Southside is crowded so they do that route instead. If you want something really hardcore, perhaps you could take the snow cat up to the top of Palmer.
  3. lots, and you still will most likely descend the south side
  4. From the "Oregon Cascades" Forum: Although you're probably right about seeing very few people on that route. If you're head is that far up your ass, you wouldn't see very many people anywhere...
  5. Wednesday or Thursday definately. I have no room for a gathering of more than a few people (and even that would require me to move all my climbing stuff out of my living room...) Depending on where and how many people are going to show, I'd be willing to procure a vast quantity of beer stored in a large container, aka, the keg.
  6. Fellatio Real comin' at ya!
  7. Climbing Hood is considered big plans?? And why would I want to go to Hood at this time of year on a weekend (especially to debate with a mindless swamp monkey), that place is a zoo!
  8. cats are just another
  9. Is there any way to give this thread a 6 star rating now that ExtremoMtDude showed up?
  10. $15bn to help out Africa while we have to cut 5 weeks off our school year. Great job Bush!
  11. what time did you start/finish? what were the conditions like on your way down? I was toying around with going up before work this week, but I decided I'd rather have sleep (long drive and much climbing to be had this weekend.)
  12. that's where schoeller comes in. comfy while hiking, comfy while sitting. it's got a much larger comfort range than any other material I've found.
  13. I don't remember where I saw it, but I think I've seen really good reviews for the mountainsmith bags. I'm a little wary about going really light though, as you'll prolly be sacrificing durability (and longetivity). I'm thinking that if I'm going to be spending $250 or so on a bag, drop the extra $50-$100 and go for a FF.
  14. I thought they could only get ill-tempered sea bass!
  15. from Everest news: http://www.mounteverest.net/story/Worst8000mtragedyin31yearsMay192003.shtml
  16. and that's about it What about the beer?!
  17. no mention of german climbers, but there was a rescue on Cho Oyo earlier... http://www.reuters.co.uk/newsPackageArticle.jhtml?type=worldNews&storyID=295380
  18. GII or Shishapangma would prolly take over if this is true... I certainly don't think that will stop people from climbing Cho Oyo though. 10 people would be worse than the Everest "tragedy" of 1996 that the media had such a field day with, so we'll prolly be getting more info.
  19. 1 year old in Indiana. Obviously there was no awareness of the event. Didn't it have a glissade from the summit to the parking lot before it blew? That's the rumors I've heard.
  20. they're gonna light the Dick on fire?!

    MATRIX RELOADED

WOW that's all I have to say... very cool, and the effects are *spectacular*
  22. Well said on both quotes!
  23. yeah, enough stuff comes down on it's own when the conditions are good that I wouldn't want to go near it in bad conditions. The new snow is definately not making for good conditions this weekend.
  24. 6' 2" or so
  25. for the record: Trask was the first to mention Democrats. then, a few posts later from FS: so FS, who was it that brought up the partisan issue?
