Have you used it? Will the hood fit over a helmet? Is it very water-resistant? Should I get one? The only thing I'm worried about with these type of shells is that I always carry a very light waterproof jacket. I usually made a habit of not taking more clothes than I can wear at once. I imagine a Serendipity or similar jacket layers under a waterproof shell better than the Dimension or Krushell. Right?

They're all the same. I use BD, I'm used to them. Only probem is the color-coding. The ABC Huevos are better in that respect.

Thanks for the link, but you would save very little. Polartec Powershield for 56 US bucks per meter! You need about 3 yards to make a jacket, so you would save nothing compared to Beyond, and save maybe 50 or 100 dollars compared to Arc'Teryx. And sewing takes a lot of time. Damn.

There is very little difference in weight between the two. The Hillebers are indeed double-wall, but the fly is connected to the tent so you set them up at the same time. And for the same weight Hillebergs have far more room.
