Nope, I live over near Lewiston, ID. Long way to McLaughlin, so I am a little hesitant to drive that far unless I have time for other peaks in the area. Spring skiing there sounds better anyway. I used to visit the Trinity Alps a lot while going to college there. Humboldt marching lumberjacks. Mostly I went into the T alps on skis in the winter. Thompson peak is a fun class 3 winter climb. But lots of serious avalanches in the canyon creek area. Very big and active. Tomorrow, a friend and I will climb Chief Joseph Mountain in the Wallowas. Awesome fall weather.

Ok, I need beta on Mt McLaughlin. Having done about all of the cascade volcanoes, I see Mclaughlin still on the list. Since a friend wants to do it, I am thinking of going along, but will I be majorly bored with the climb (hike)? Anybody want to share any info on the peak?

Unbelievable, skiing Silverton since Wednesday. Only 2-3 inches in the wallowas, a long ways till we ski. Shouldnt this thread be moved to Freshiez???

I still use the Ortovox F2. Both frequencies, so I guess it is compatible with others. But skiing in the high Wallowas, I rarely see other skiers, so it doesnt matter which tranceiver I use, as long as I have two.
