  1. There has been the occasional reference on this board regarding Washington's 100 highest peaks, and there are many local climbers that have a goal (whether stated or kept secret) of climbing all of these peaks. Here is a link to a fascinating story of the group who first made it their mission to climb each of these peaks: 100 Highest Scroll down or click the link for the story. These weren't first ascents necessarily and you won't read a whole bunch about these people beyond this story and an occasional mention in Beckey's guide, but I thought it would of interest to hear their story here. 7. Dang, nice going! Way to knock of a couple of big, bad classics.
  8. Last Spring on Whitehorse while coming down from High Pass, we saw a family headed up toward the pass and each was carrying a long (8') stick. They were wearing blue jeans and other odd mountainwear and they weren't very friendly
  9. Check out Sparky with the old-school weed references - reefer and ganja! Quaint!

  15. While up in Lillooet, I saw on the tube there was another big flap because they were sending troops over to take part in peace keeping missions, but all they had for uniforms were ones with the jungle motif and the desert ones wouldn't be in for a few months. I guess desert patterns are part of the summer lineup.

  19. Thread creep is present in every thread - even simple trip reports, and nobody really complains about it. The A at V thread was a feel-good thread where everyone could get behind the message. When the sway of the spray went another way, apparently we were all supposed to ignore it in deference to people close to the story. My bad I guess Here's some flames Dru [ 03-05-2002: Message edited by: vegetablebelay ]
