spray did need a good kick in the ass. didn't figure it'd come from lambone but hey wtf right?? there's entertainment value in this crap too...i guess
 -
klenke--i don't mind being a moderator. just trying to point out that some of the shit we have to moderate is down right kindergarten. just fuckin funnin with y'all. friendly reminder that the world doesn't begin and end with the cc.com collective's "feelings"
 -
last time i checked lambone's the only one hangin out the laundry. maybe he and greg_w can team up so the whites don't turn pink

OK for all of you who that the above is even a remote reality. You fail. Take a step back, turn off the computer and go outside. Your spandex is obviously bunching up around your private bits. No one is conspiring, wasting anymore time than necessary moderating, cares that much about paranoid attention whores I am posting this merely b/c you're making me work. I don't like to actually have to do any moderation. I like to read and laugh at my liesure. Now straighten up and quit wasting my time. For all of you who are crying about free speech and having posts moved etc. Didn't you learn that there's a time and place for everything?? you're putting your spray in the wrong forums. So quit your pantywaste whining and learn how to engage in a meaningful discussion or quit bothering to post and read the board. If you're so milquetoast that the only way you have of engaging in a topic is to "shout" over everyone and engage in nonsequitor rationalizing please find a new hobby.

This past weekend I held a gathering of several moderators at my house. While not all were in attendance I think that a quorum was reached. We spent our evening plotting and scheming ways to torment particular posters. We included several cc.com regulars who are not moderators in this meeting to serve as an advisory pannel. We presented different scenarios to see how each would respond. I do believe that we have effectively developed several devious plots which should be effective tools in tormenting particular individuals. If you are disliked by a particular moderator, be afraid....be very afraid....we're conspiring against you. Your very outrage will be the source of much fun and entertaining spray. Your outbursts and protests will ultimately lead to the demise of your present avatar all the while providing fodder for our black and evil souls. You'll be the entertainment for weeks, providing the fuel that keeps the spray forum "healthy". If you read something that you think is aimed at you personally it is! If you sense a conspiracy against you....there is. If you think a moderator is being intentionally mean...they are! Watch out! Don't look behind you! Someone is lurking there!

suddenly political spray looks interesting. a bastion of common sense in an otherwise hypocritical sea of spray right about now
 -
lambone, i'm done discussing this in a public forum. your ire is misplaced and irrational. regardless of your further points, i don't feel the need to lambaste you publicly over this. you continue as you feel appropriate.

greg that's crap and you know it. plain and simple crap. time eyman knows that many voters doesn't have the foresight to realize the long term implications of that inititative. there shooting for short term wallet relief. it's one thing to discuss government waste and fiscal responsibility. it's another to take away a significant portion of the budget and then expect them to make it work.
 -
WTF are you talking about lambone? have you gone completely over the edge??? we aren't talking about your spat with chelle. she handled herself just fine in that matter. we're talking about you're over reaction to some unsolicited but well meaning advice. and i think it's total BS that you'd try and insite outrage by stating that the mods can read PMs. We can NOT do that and YOU know it. that is so totally suck!
 -
imo, it didn't come across as a condescending power trip from an asshole. it came across as someone's view of you and an expression of concern. the fact that you would jump to such are harsh conclusion about the content speaks volumes in and of itsself. read it again, it doesn't say "lambone, you must quit climbing" whoever it was suggesting that you seemed burned out and taking a break from climbing might improve your attitude. (i am not making a judgement on your attitude) taking a break is a lot different than quitting all together. i guess, in short, i am shocked that you would take that PM so harshly.

sadly, the whole concept of a state income tax may make a republican voter. that and the fact i think christine gregoire is even scary than simms. i'd just like to point out that if tim eyman had not run amuk with his initiatives, we would not be having a serious discussion of an income tax. the high cost of car tabs really blew when it came to paying for them. however, it was one shot per year that would cost me far less than an income tax. if the price really rubbed you the wrong way you could by a cheaper car. i won't even address the property tax initiative. the idea that the income tax is any less painful b/c it helps with my federal tax burden is such a crock. so it reduces my taxable income by a few thousand bucks? that certainly doesn't save me as much as the income tax will cost.
 -
hey, you didn't even need to make this post. you already were lambone--as a former moderator (self removed) you know as well as anybody the general stance on posting PMs regardless of their content. that just blows.

nope, the creep will get what's coming to him. my attitude is better now after talking the sheriff. just thought people should pay attention when climbing there.
 -
Please be careful if you are climbing at the Snoqualmie Pass crags next to Denny Creek road. The RatB*((*& ,who stole my jeep and gear (repeatedly) and has stolen from many other houses in the area, has moved from the pass and is currently living in a trailer across the road from the access tunnel. his girlfriend lives just a bit up the road and my jeep was found on that property. these people will break into any vehicle that is left unattended. Watch your things and park some place further away and walk.

Perhaps he should reflect on past (and future) transgressions. Discuss. payback is a bitch ain't it?
 -
not me--i'm hosting a bbq in the rain. figures.

i believe that north bend city council recently voted to approve an ordinance restricting these monstrosities or at very least requiring a helmet. not sure, thought i read that in the local paper, but i'm too lazy to check my facts.
 -
hmmmm...and here i just thought it was an expression of your sexual identity.
 -
Rock On. Perhaps the Bad 80's Fashion Forum might be even more appropriate. spandex is bad 80s fashion? but you were seen in this fine spandex outfit just last weekend
 -
clearly, you need to spring for the more expensive sling with the nice plastic covered loops. the bagpipes should secure nicely. have considered an alpine flute instead? as for your kilt, well we all wish you'd stop wearing it anyway. it's well...lets just say...disturbing.
 -
come on, don't be dense. as special pointed out there's always the animal shelter. if you spend a little time looking you can usually find a no kill shelter and probably free/low cost spaying so it doesn't happen in the first place.
 -
damn cute pups. what a friggin wanker

might i kindly suggest that we take the tired old bolt/anti-bolt remarks to a new thread in a more appropriate forum? i'm willing to bet that none of you has anything new to add to the debate and that you're not going to change anyone's mind but if you insist upon beating a dead horse take it someplace else. visual impact as a broad topic should probably go someplace else too. have a day, minx

i don't want to go into details here b/c perhaps the people in this story lurk here. there's lots of things to know that you're not going to learn in the gym. i'm sure the staff at most gyms emphasizes the differences between indoors and out. but lets face it a large percentage of people have little contact with the staff after their belay check. anchors, even bolt anchors require some knowledge. last spring during a w/e outing at a crag we ran into a party that clearly didn't know this. bolts were on top of the ledge. they had set up slings from the bolts that were just long enough so the crossloaded carabiners had their gates right on the edge of the cliff. one of the climbers was having a problem on rappell. she had no idea how to help herself. she couldn't go down any further and was getting tired holding herself there. neither she nor the other two people in her party had a clue what do. she got a quick lesson in back up knots and my partner was able to get her back on rappell safely. obviously most of the time you're not going to have a problem with your atc at the crag. however, it's not uncommon to have to set your anchor from bolts that aren't on vertical face. i'm sure there's plenty of other examples of why it's not quite so simple to go from gym to crag.
