it doesn't matter what he was going to do with it at home. it shouldn't have been out behind the counter. it was on hold for me!

I think 'chelle is referring to "Glide" TM. It is dental floss produced by Gore (of -tex, not Al- ) It's the greatest for flossing of teeth. You won't go back to regular floss once you've tride Glide. So is "Glide" dental floss the stuff you were talkign about? yes glide is gore-floss. chelle has demonstrated it's effectiveness in many repair applications. it's not just good for marking your rope

we take our son over to vantage regularly. if he doesn't feel like climbing or gets bored with it, he just plays happily in the dirt and rocks. we bring lots of snacks and he brings a few toys in his pack and we're good to go for several hours of climbing. even if the kids don't like climbing there's no reason they shouldn't go along. nothing like dirt and the outdoors for good healthy fun.

oops! i think that's my suPconscience speaking

ChrisT-i think mine's safer with a rope and a harness compared to some of the dumbe stuff he does at home! sadly, he prefers to boulder. That whole business of lowering off the climb is just too damn scary. he's a helluva boulderer though. thinking about getting him a crash pad for his birthday

knolwedgable outdoor professionals coming to bend
minx replied to gapertimmy's topic in Oregon Cascades
Wow. I can't believe this hasn't happened yet. I'm such an idiot. If I would have bought a house when I lived in Bend I'd have made a killing. But nooo, I'm an idiot. Okay, I'm finished with my pity party. it's not "in" the REI per se, but i found that there is a starbucks drive thru conveniently located right across the parking lot from the b'ham REI. -
might as well be wearing flaming pink spandex

i just want to ask any of the women/girls/females in the audience this: how many of you personally have felt that a guy wouldn't climb with you b/c you were female? this assumes you were going to be climbing that you had the physical skills to climb. If some guy says "hey i'm looking for a 5.11 partner today and you don't climb 5.11 you can't claim discimination you can only claim lack of skill.

i think you may need to work on your deductive reasoning skills. my comment was precisely the opposite. i disapprove of many of the images provided to children. i don't like disney. i do think content directed at them is oversexualized. my point was that spongebob is one of the less sexualized cartoons available. again, you miss the point. the spongebob video has nothing to do with sexuality. as far as teaching homosexual themes to children...they see all types of images in their daily lives. we should teach them to be tolerant of all of them. i suppose there was a time when people would've said "You can teach tolerance to elementary-aged children without bringing racial themes into the lesson" avoiding a topic isn't always right.
-
the question was do *i* have a life. not do *i have a public schoo life* perhaps you spent too much of your education in the public schools. i'm still confused what the downside of teaching children tolerance is?
-
only my own. i try and stay out of other people's private lives.
-
kk have you ever watched sponge bob? or any cartoons recently? i'd say that the disney heroines are a lot more sexulized than anything in spongebob. no reference to sexual identity is made in the video. i agree that some of the stuff in kids shows is a bit over the top but frankly, sponge bob doesn't even make the top 10 list for introducing sexuality. every disney movie ever made beats it. the little mermaid? pocohontas? the list goes on and on.

oh no! SQUID U.S. National - AP Jumbo Squid Wash Onto California Beaches 45 minutes ago U.S. National - AP NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Hundreds of giant squid are washing up on Orange County beaches, creating a scene more akin to "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" than "The O.C." The bug-eyed sea creatures, believed to be Humboldt squid, normally reside in deep water and only come to the surface at night. Why approximately 500 of them began washing up on the sands of Laguna Beach and Newport Beach on Tuesday isn't clear. Authorities said the squid — the biggest weighing 17 pounds — might have been pursuing bait fish and gotten too close to shore, or the tides might simply have carried them in. "I have heard of this happening before, but it's not a common occurrence," lifeguard Capt. Eric Bauer of the Newport Beach Fire Department said Wednesday.
