  1. Man, that really blows. I know how much work building wall like that can be.
  2. This proves that there are still first ascents that Joe Everyman can do. All it takes is a little area knowledge, a critical eye, and the desire to get out and check it all out. Good job!
  3. That is totally hilarious!
  4. Oh, you said cyclocross, not cyclotron! My bad.
  5. Here's a tip. When you go to do that layback, get up to the ledge, place two cams as high as you can reach and then just crank out the layback to the jug without stopping to try to place gear. Just go for it.
  6. Then you get the benefit of being tooled and hassled on a regular basis. Oh, you'll still get your shit stolen too when the mans not there hassling you. Not me bubba. Follow the rules and the man won't hassle you. But then there are those who detest rules.
  7. Someone already did this thread months ago. Still pretty funny.
  8. Hey we didn't do that one! Let's go back and climbing it! And this time we're going to top rope Blue Autumn, too.
  9. I thought that John posted as neverenough. Is he also JMClimber? Looks like a great trip!
  10. The pundits are saying that the Chinese may have been pressuring the government to show restraint. They don't want a lot of bloodshed to spoil their Olympic Games.
  11. I have some classified ads from 1951 as well. You could buy 25 acres up by Lake Stickney for $900. Houses like mine were selling for $8000.
  12. Que sera sera, dude.
  13. And soon enough, it will be China again. Naw, China has already won that war. They own us!
  14. I was replacing an old window to my upstairs bedroom and found some old newspaper stuffed inside the wall as insulation. The house was supposedly built in 1951 and the newspaper was dated January 16, 1951. The Korean War figured prominently in the news then much as the Iraq War does today. When you think about it, both were and are proxy wars. It was China then, Al Queda and Iran now.
  15. Now they are calling him a Web Star sickie

    Duck Killer!

The Peabody Memphis knows how to take care of its ducks.
  17. That's a good attitude to have.

    Sad Stats

Overlay the data on hours worked per year and throw in for good measure obesity rates. I wonder if there is a correlation.
  19. Rob, you look pretty strong, you should just go back and do that second pitch of Roger's Corner. It's like climbing in the gym- all big jugs. It's just a matter of hauling yourself up.
  20. A friend of mine told me that it looks like they are building a "wheelchair-accessible trail" to Lake Ann alongside the existing trail. There's a backhoe tearing out trees, etc., right now. Sounds pretty wild to me. Anyone know anything?
  21. It would seem to me that someone who posts as cheamclimber would be an expert on all things Cheam.
  22. I noticed a large loose block on the second pitch of Winter Solstice today. I very nearly pulled it off. I ordinarily wouldn't comment on something like this, but it happens to be directly above a place where people congregate waiting to get on Midway. It would be nice if someone could trundle that thing when no one is around. It's about half-way to 2/3 up the second pitch.
  23. To me it's not worth it wondering whether I'll get a ticket or not. I just buy the pass. I am told you can buy it online and print it out on your computer's printer. What could be easier?
  24. I used a leash for a short time when I was new to climbing. It was always getting in the way and seemed like a bother. I dispensed with it, and in 9 years of climbing have yet to lose a belay device. The trick is to never take the device off your HMS biner as Rob mentioned.
  25. Like I care?? I've been tossed so much shit here if I can't throw a little back then kiss off. If you can't handle it leave. and isn't that nice, running to defend your friend. What ever bunch of two faced idiots. Seahawks, I haven't been flipping you shit, and at least Rob gets out and climbs (I've climbed with him) and post trip reports. What have you done?
