  1. Watch it Kev, he's a big dude.
  2. He says he's been reading the board, but just hasn't been posting.
  3. You pulled off the Perfect Crime, right under everyone's noses! Nice work.
  4. I found lots of both blueberries and huckleberries along the Pacific Crest Trail today. They are sweet and abundant. There is also a bumper crop of mushrooms, particularly Bolletus.
  5. Is that Joe Zawinul?
  6. I hear that Weekend_Climberz guy thinks he's too good for Spray. What do you all think about that?
  7. ...and they seldom make the cover of the tabloids, either.

    LOUD PIPES

I point out that you also like death metal music. Same difference.
  9. Well said, Matt.
  10. Except that gear is never as strong as bolts, even when it's considered excellent. The most bomber piece you can imagine is about half the strength of a bolt.
  11. Buy locally from Craigs List. You can actually look at the gear before you buy. It might take you longer to find what you're after, however. I don't subscribe to the notion that one must know the history of a piece of pro to use it safely. I know guys who's racks are composed of mostly booty gear. If it looks good, it's going on my rack. The exception to the above is Aliens. I'd want to have one that I knew already had been fallen on!

  15. Dru, did he ever set you up for that one!
  16. Having done the Gangsta Rap rappels, I would agree with you. I'll try the walkoff next time.

    Favorite Beer

McEwan's Scotch Ale is pretty good, but it has a super premium price, unfortunately.
  18. I don't know how you can say this when possibly half the climbers use them. They are essentially the same as ABC Huevos/Smileys, except that they are a bit sharper on the corners. I don't like the Wildcountry because they don't have a transverse taper on the wide axis, which I find to be so useful in placements involving shallow, flared cracks. They are probably the only stopper that does not have this taper. I do love the DMM and have not found them to get stuck any easier than the Smileys. They do place better in certain situations. The large DMMs, especially, are a lot lighter than similar sized nuts of other brands.
  19. You have on the one hand parents who have one child, where one parent stays at home and micromanages every aspect of that kid's life. Then you have the single parent family or those where both parents work. So some kids are getting too much attention, while others are not getting enough. The parents who over-protect their children seek to extend that protection in the schools by imposing rules. The best solution is more adult supervision, not rules. We should reduce class sizes.

    Favorite Beer

I never used to have a favorite beer before I tasted Mac and Jack's African Amber. If I have a choice, I'll order that about half of the time.
  21. I've been trying. I'll have to move out of the Seattle area to find work. There are lots of jobs in California. If I get "lucky" I'll get to move to Spokane.
  22. Gorgeous photos!
  23. The two BD/Smiley sizes I use most often are #8 and #9.
