    FYI

Gregs body contains about 2 liters of blood and about 3 liters of vitriol.
  2. What fear? I don't fear falling, I fear hitting something on the way down.
  3. Bravo! This gets my vote. I bet Richard U. Goode pronounced his last name "good" but everybody I know says "goodie". (I usually say "goodie" too, just to be a conformist.) I bet Harry Majors knows the answer. My friend, Roy M., says he knows members of the Goode family who still live in the state and they pronounce their name, "good". By the way, plant growers are among the worst when it comes to misprouncing names. The best example I can think of is Cattleya ("cat-lee-a"), the corsage orchid. Some people pronounce it "cat-a-lay-a". How they get that from the spelling is a mystery to me.
  4. No change to the lump on my right hand, but now a new one has appeared on the left palm between the 4th and 5th fingers. That's it. It is now time to go see the hand specialist.

    helmet vs. hair

    Cone-shaped helmet/ Electric storm.
  6. This is wonderful news, Erden.
  7. The right to immediate right of Jello Tower is Midway, 5.5 followed by Winter Solstice, 5.7. The latter is a pretty good route. At least I think it deserves more ascents than it gets.
  8. This abasement of science made me think of the following:
  9. I went in June when there was still nice snow all the way up to and through the gully from Glacier Basin. I have no idea what it's like now, but it's almost certain there is snow in the gully. The ledge that Beckey mentioned isn't a problem. There is one move into the wide crack that can be more difficult for shorter people. Bring a Metolius 10 or a Camalot 3.5 for that move.
  10. I have to wonder if they were headed up Damnation Crack? He would have gotten pro, however. My guess is they were on Winter Solstice.

  12. Ah, I hear the sweet sound of chainsaws...
  13. Officials in the Dept. of Interior have decided to overrule the scientists in the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife to declare our Washington and Oregon population of Murrelets are not a distinct population and are therefore expendable. So I want to ask all you Canadians to take real good care of our Marbled Murrelets after we exterpate our local population. We know we can count on you to preserve this endangered species.
  14. The East Coast has many advantages. First of all it's flat so you never have to walk up hill. Second of all, population density is very high, so if you want to go visit your neighbor, you don't have to walk very far. Also, it's much easier to get the deep fat fried foods one craves. You can buy landlocked property for cheap and end up with an ocean front lot. There are many, many reasons to live on the east coast.
  15. Gowans, politics may suck, but it is far preferable to the alternative, IMHO. There are those among us who may disagree. There was a time when all disagreements were solved through war. This still is the norm in many parts of the world.
  16. I couldn't agree more with you Merv. The right to protest peacefully should not be prevented, but go over the line to violence and you should be busted. Protesters who cover their faces can only be doing this because they have committed or plan to commit crimes. Someone who is proud to raise their voice in opposition shouldn't be afraid to have their identity known.
  17. Pax, who was there? I would have come, but I was playing with the jazz band. Did anyone get pictures?
  18. Trans-fatty acids- they are everywhere!
  19. Like this?
  20. Seems like it would be easier to create intermediate rap stations on the route than to blaze a trail down the wild and wooly backside. Just replacing the existing tat with chain as mtnfreak proposes would be a big plus.
  21. They will learn what germinates from the seeds of appeasment.
  22. I'll bet the next time you are a passenger and you start to feel sick, you'll think about this story and ask the driver to pull over.
  23. The very reason why asbestos is so damaging to the lungs. Nano technology opens up a whole new vistas of occupational hazards.
  24. It's all good, dude. I was just trying to come up with a hasty algorithm. I realize now that my formula doesn't take into consideration a number of factors like the distance to the first clip or the sharpness of the rocks in the crater zone.
