  1. Who says cc.com doesn't inspire deep thought. It led me to find the following rebuttal to the notion that Redshift is a fraud: Is Expansion the Only Explanation for Redshift/Distance Relationship?
  2. Great site Dru! What a find: "Redshift fraud is the key as is being recognized. The earth is the stationary center of the real 6000 year old universe which is not one ten trillionth the size we are indoctrinated with relentlessly. This Kabbalic Kosmos we call "science" is the indispensable lie upholding the myths of terrestrial and extraterrestrial evolutionism." Reminds me of Dr. Bronner Castile Soap packaging.
  3. I have to ask, have you ever washed your rope using detergent? If so, rinse it again thoroughly with water. If not, I'd consider returning it.
  4. You obviously didn't read the court's reasoning in the article. The point was that the Board took a stand that was obviously in favor of a particular religious interpretation by placing those stickers in the books.
  5. Remember Uncle_Tricky's saga, Friction is Stranger than Truth?
  6. I'll bet it was the Ringbolt Route. This is the only recommended gear route at the Feathers. It's rated 5.6, but it is not to be trifled with. It get's wide near the top and if you don't have the gear for it, it could be bad.
  7. Here we have the Computer Geek version of Pub Club.

    Hello...

I was curious as to how much money may have been actually lost to this fraud. The answer was "$5 billion since 1980" or "$1 million a day". I don't know who keeps these stats, but I find it rather hard to believe that many people could be duped. http://home.rmci.net/alphae/419coal/ http://www.crimes-of-persuasion.com/Crimes/Business/nigerian.htm
  9. There was a large group of safety-conscious persons.
  10. Great turnout. I saw Ken4ord, Toast, mattp, Paco, AlpineK, Snugtop, Tanstaafl, AlpineDave, Sobo, klenke, GaryYngve, AlpinFox, his buddy Peter, Matt's buddy David, and Jopa, plus others I didn't know or couldn't remember.
  11. This is the "New Boulder" thread. New rock faces are not created every day, except perhaps by volcanism, but every year we get new boulders.
  12. I've got some truly ancient hexes that I think are Chouinard. Some are even made of brass rather than aluminum. Of course they are radially symmetrical, like the machine nuts from which they evolved.
  13. If you get the Scarpa Alpha with the Intuition liners, they are not significantly heavier than leathers and they are totally warm and dry.
  14. You're not kidding! "One of these days, Alice, one of these days... POW!... right in the kisser"!
  15. You can tell that it wasn't the first time the guy has cratered into the same bank. What some people will do for the camera!
  16. Who says he wants a "relationship"?
  17. A rabble rouser, that's what you are.
  18. I have a friend who is a roofer and he says that hand injuries are much more likely when working in the cold. Are tendons more brittle when your hands are cold?
  19. Ah, the good ol' Salmonella Shout.
  20. There were curses associated with the discovery of King Tut's tomb and with the Hope Diamond. There's also the Curse of the Bambino that was recently broken. What other famous curses can you think of?
  21. Sounds like either gastroenteritis or a big night on the town. Most likely the latter.
  22. ...Police officers here are trying to get DNA from every man in Truro, all 790 or so, or as many as will agree. It is an unusual last-ditch gambit for clues to a 3-year-old killing: the stabbing death of Christa Worthington, 46, a freelance fashion writer ... ...Semen was found on Worthington's body, and over the past three years, the police have investigated a former boyfriend and several other men... ...We're trying to find that person who has something to hide," Perry said. That has prompted complaints from some residents who feel the DNA sweep is coercive. "I think it's outrageous," said Dick Seed, 44, a Truro sign painter who called the American Civil Liberties Union to complain... That's the guy's name. I wonder if he gave his real name? I miss

There was a regular cadre of chatters. Who'd we have? Muffy, Carolyn, Snoboy, Dru (as various avatars), ChrisT, Marylou (usually as avatar), Dwayner (as Merv Griffin), Thinker (on occasion). Who else Muffy?
  24. It's still really good to know how to make a biner brake in case you lose your device. Biner brakes can be doubled up, provided you have enough biners. With a double biner brake you could rappel on a pair of 6 mm cords, such as your haul line, if that is all you had.
