    Vampires

When it comes to organ transplants, money talks and bullshit walks.
  2. Every one of those guys is a great musician in his own right.
  3. By "won't pour worth shit", he must be referring to excessive foaming?
  4. It's not just arrogance, it is contempt. You have to read the biography to understand. He was a very bitter man.
  5. Miles Davis can almost be thought of as several musicians, rather than one. He was constantly remaking himself and moving from one style to another. He never stood still. Every albumn is different from the one before it. If you don't like one of them, chances are you'd like some of the others. I agree with you about his arrogance. I read his biography. He was not a likeable person. I can easily look past all that, because he was such a great musician.
  6. It certainly doesn't take long to present the evidence in favor of ID, because it doesn't exist. I guess that was a Gilliganism, wasn't it?
  7. When beer is really, really cold, you might as well drink Coors light because the taste is the same. The reason IPA exists is because it was made to be brought on long voyages to India. The high hop content preserved it better at higher temperatures.
  8. No that was Ehmic (sp?).
  9. Good old Uncle Ben. What a guy!

    RIP 86

Don Adams was a really funny guy. I still have an old comedy albumn of his called Don Adams meets the Roving Reporter. Mount Everest was hilarious. Re-released in 1997
  11. I was thinking it was a hell of a photoshop job.
  12. You'd think so, but I have little experience leading offwidths. Sometimes what looks like it might work, doesn't always in practice. It gets really wide up top, but could probably be run out because it's quite easy, almost a chimney. The guide book doesn't say anything about gear unlike the adjacent offwidth Blue Autumn, so it probably takes more standard gear.
  13. If we are going to be drinking quality ale, we shouldn't serve it too cold. The idea is to actually TASTE it.
  14. As the name would suggest, this offwidth is one of Bill Robins. It has an anchor but the chains are too short, too small and rusty.
  15. I top roped this route on Sunshine Wall yesterday. I'm pretty sure I could lead it. Given that it pinches down to fists in several places, it would seem that it could be led using several 2.5-3.5 inch cams and perhaps 3-4 larger cams in the 5-7 inch range. It has one or two chockstones that can be tied off. Has anyone out there led this one? Martin? Craig?
  16. Apocalyptic Christianity provides a perfect explanation for Bush's policies. It explains why we are running this country "like there is no tomorrow".
  17. My interest is two-fold: 1) I am curious to know if we were actually on the original route. 2) More people ought to enjoy climbing this route because I think it is pretty good. And one more thing I forgot to mention. I think there are peregrin falcons nesting on Easter Tower. They were dive bombing us all morning. It was cool watching them- magnificent animals.
  18. I think Ray Borbon has done quite a bit up there. You might contact him.
  19. Sometimes I wonder whether we might return to the Dark Ages.
  20. He could hurt you if you took him seriously. He was one who never seemed to know when enough was enough.
  21. So to this day, no one ever figured out who the culprits were?
  22. May I ask, who is the speaker?
  23. A pepsi can stove has no copper, just aluminum. Most pots are aluminum, stainess steel or titanium. I personally detest the smell of denatured alcohol, because in addition to methanol, it usually contains a hydrocarbon rubber solvent. If you can get Specially Denatured Alcohol, that is best. It is denatured with 5% methanol and 5% isopropanol, if I remember correctly.
