  1. It's Thursday for me this week.
  2. I tried them. One size was too tight. The next size was too loose to stay on. I was singularly unimpressed.
  3. Don is a fine writer. Nice story.
  4. Camp also makes a 6-point aluminum crampons that weighs only 215 grams (8 oz.), versus 380 grams for the steel. $60

    Make it so, Number One!
  6. This info?
  7. SW Rib is pretty popular. You might have to wait on a weekend. Hit it in the afternoon and you should be good.
  8. How many climbers are sponsored by Black Diamond and Patagonia? Perhaps climbing gear manufacturers need to be more selective of whom they sponsor. They need to consider ethics and concern for the environment in addition to climbing skills. Patagonia (Rock Climbing) Katie Brown Steph Davis Brittany Griffith Lynn Hill Ron Kauk Timmy O'Neill Dean Potter Sonnie Trotter B/D (US climbers only) Conrad Anker (USA) Tommy Caldwell (USA) Kitty Calhoun (USA) Eric Decaria (USA) Chuck Fryberger (USA) Eli Helmuth (USA) Charlotte Jouett (USA) Kevin Mahoney (USA) Rob Miller (USA) Andy Raether (USA) Chris Schulte (USA) Adam Stack (USA) John Varco (USA) Heidi Wirtz (USA)

Fun, fun, fun! It reminds me of the guy who used liquid oxygen to light his barbecue. Francium, by the way, is a radioactive element and doesn't exist in nature in any quantity. Only traces have ever been isolated. When the assistant dropped the cesium into the bathtub, he was apparently so scared he dropped his megaphone in the blast zone. He probably had to change his shorts after that.
  10. Someone drove off and left some trekking poles lying in the road on 7/30/06 at the Heliotrope Ridge Trailhead of Mt. Baker. Send PM if you think they may be yours.
  11. Yeah, yeah, Scott. You want to make us all drool with envy about your Bugs trip. Ha ha.
  12. When you go to the gallery, display them as the size you want, then right click Properties and copy the URL. I think it'll have a label in there with "-med" or some such that controls the size. You want medium, not large. At present they are thumbnail size.
  13. unless snopes is doing hoaxes now... i'm guessing the arm angled up into the bridge when it hit, basically penetrating the bridge from beneith rather than slicing it. What really surprised me was the low cost of the repairs to the bridge, only $134,000. I would have thought it would be great deal more. Contractor bidding on job. "Yeah, yeah, I'll have her fixed up in no time". (Turns to flunky) "Jimmy, better place that big Bondo order, pronto."
  14. What would have really been awesome would have been a stop frame movie of the actual collision. I imagine that upon impact, the trailer busted loose from the tractor instantly. The driver would look in his rear view mirror and mutter something like, "oops", "oh, no!", or perhaps, "Doh!", as he continued down the highway, sans load.
  15. Another way of saying STFU n00b!?
  16. My nodule has not progressed significantly in the past several months. I still have full function. I can afford to bide my time at this point.
  17. Shit happens. (knock on wood)
  18. John, do you have any photos from before the avalanche for comparison?
  19. This is a Pub Club.
  20. Wow! I never heard that particular explanation. It's quite compelling. Seems like the better solution for MacDonalds would have been cups that insulate better rather than hotter coffee. But that would have cost more so it wouldn't have optimized profits.
  21. This taking poor quality control to new "haights".
  22. Sure you are doing fine. You should have come to Exit 32 with us yesterday. Four of us turned out. You can also come to Pub Clubs when we have them. Hasn't been one in about a month though. They are more popular in the off seasons. Also, if you have a specific climbing proposal, just start a thread on it and ask for partners to contact you by either PM, or e-mail or by responding to the thread. If it's technical, you might mention upper limits on grade, or difficulty, etc.
  23. Daughters are the greatest, but they get more expensive as they mature.
  24. Fantastic trip report! I could feel the stoke!
  25. Goatboy reported a month ago that a gap was opening up so I'd assume you'd have to climb the rocks.
