  14. Try taking Diamox and then climb something where you expect you'd get sick. If you still do, then it's not altitude.

  20. Distel, there was an article in the PI this morning about a recreation of a famous battle in Mongolia 800 years ago in which Ghengis Kahn had a great victory. They had this guy all decked out in period uniform and weaponry.

  22. Yes and No. Those batteries are probably not lead acid. The electrolyte could be alkaline, which would be even worse than acid.
  23. Having just climbed Rainier, I would advise that you concentrate on what NOT to bring. Heavy packs make for unpleasant and slow climbing trips.
  24. Otto, what did you think of the approach trail after the workparty in June? Any improvement?
  25. At the time that picture was taken, Layton's parents probably hadn't even met. But yes, the resemblance is there.
