  1. Yeah, what Frank said, except for the call me part, don't call me. That place is already too overdeveloped for a secret crag. My opinion only here. Your results may vary.
  2. Sometimes it's just better to just stay at home, look at the pretty pictures and thank the stars and the powers that be that they didn't roll any monster rocks down on these bros. That's my plan anyway! Glad you dudes had a good trip, and I thank you for sharing.
  3. "Always tie and untie your shoes when putting them on or taking them off". Looks like they must have lowered their standards:-0

  5. I'm just kidding, I do OK. I will admit to falling on a 10a crack at Beacon 'bout a month or so ago. Pretty surprised. I chalk it up to age and not paying attention. Joseph caught me, the funny part is he was telling me about catching another fall of some old timer's at that very location at the start of the day. Ivan and Dan saw it from a few ledges over and I had to endure that cackling. I will say only that I did better than Stewart though in that his fall on the same crack when he broke his foot must have been a 60+ footer or so from the sounds of it.
  6. Sweet stuff Bryan! Gotta love granite, it's looks mostly solid to0! keep up the good work sir and thanks for sharing!
  7. Sounds like it:-) You'll get sued - it's the American way. No. This is defiantly not the thing to do. The answer is to sue the bastards. Yeah. As American as suing the bastards....err, in this case, I guess it's "suing us". Yeah, make the MFers cease and desist. That should put to all stop to golf in the city any way. Good call. Golf sucks. Bastards shouldn't be doing this in your back yard. Ie having fun in their selected sport. BTW, you and what you like to do will most likely be next on the docket. Like to have wild sex in your house? NOPE, you'll get sued cause your neighbors kid can hear it. Climbing somewhere, buzzzz nope, you'll get sued cause you are stressing out the local homeowners! You tree drops leaves in the neighbors yard? Buzzz! Plan on getting sued (BTW, I already got sued on this one!) Yeah, complain and then sue the bastards. Yeah. Its the American way: take away their rights to enjoy themselves like they have been doing for the last 50 years. Bastards. How dare they intrude on your space! Bastards.
  8. I like groomed runs at high speed. I especially like to get air at high speed. I like steep if it's groomed and have only had maybe 2 good powder days in my life. Crud makes me fall. I like speed, so that isn't a good thing. This air thing is different than "Big" air, of which I got too much in High school to the point where a tall jump scares the shit out of me and reminds me of the time I almost broke both knees coming down from way up high when both ski bindngs released and my knees slammed into the boards. I don't know the din settings, my kid went to college a few years back and she was the only one who knew what that was in the house. Although the coin is unlimited. I am a cheap sob, to the xtreeme, and looking for a deal. But, I have always settled for second best so my kids could have 1st choice and top shelf or I could bank the scratch in case they needed it later, (explains why I can't ski powder well, had cheap skis all my life and never would pony up the $), and would not mind buying the good stuff, as long as I really do get safer releases, truely, and not just marketing hype.
  9. Nice pics Mark. Thanks
  10. Long list elsewhere on the site, however in review, I see I may have missed a few reasons. Like being old, sucky and fat means people just laugh at you.
  11. Well, I told my kids I was done buying crap for them and that I'm now number one. (not entirely true as I did buy my boy another board and some flow bindings so that count is now like 4). However, I just counted the brand new downhill skis in my basement and the count is 4 but there may be 5. Most were picked up on SAC sales. None have bindings and the snow is about to fly. I ski hard, resort skiing - but I'm over 50 and need good bindings. What do you Snowwhores here recommend ? Do you suggest I figure out how to mount them myself? Where can I get a good deal on high end bindings for 4 sets of skis? Thanks Bill BTW, I have a pair of the Black Diamonds I'm thinking of mounting an AT binding on. Recommendations?

  13. I know someone who lives across the street from Eastmoreland. They collect a hefty amount of balls every spring in the shrubs. Small consolation prize.

    THIS IS A TEST

It didn't work Rudy, to me, it looks like you tilted the pic too far to the right @90 degrees. Good luck.
  16. Spray looked full.

  18. 2 words......2 words for the graduate: "The Prize". Great book by Daniel Yergin.
  19. My list: 1) I forgot. 2) Sat was the Climb Max sale. They had free beer. 3) Sunday needed to spend some time with the family. 4) My left arm hurts. 5) No one invited me. 6) Thought Dwayner and Pope would show up spraying anti-bolt venom and we'd have to get down. Haven't been flossing so my teeth just can't take the hits like they use too when I was young. 7) Chance to be almost alone. ...in the woods...with 10,000 hunters.....all blasting that peace and quiet to hell..... 8) Saturday and Sunday was a church day, a special time to be alone at a secluded retreat: away from the hustle and bustle ............at Gothic Rocks and the Cathedral formation specifically. Put in 2 (two) bolts. Spent most of the day getting to that point. Came back Sun. with the wife and 2 dawgs and did some trail work. Hank the Dog did make the highlight reel of the day by puking 3 (three) times inside the car. Once on my rope bag. Now I'm jonesing in a big way over the place. Not saying you all aren't good company, but it's a rare and unusual treat to be the first climber's to EVER to touch a virgin crag. I have experienced this before and it's something which totally consumes your mind, waking and sleeping.
  20. Not so, go look 1st. If you really want to help out I have outlined what I think the best course of action. Think it over.
  21. Get on the trail down the other side. It needs to be graded better. There is parking on that end! Look for a big tree, step over the guardrail when you see the orange tag and "bingo" right there. Make it smooth and even is all, shouldn't be tough.
  22. Wow, these guys rule! I didn't get there till 7:21 pm and the parking lot was full of folks, food and beer. Bought some gear, quaffed some beer, said hi and then hit the bricks, but everyone else looked prepared to spend the night! Side note: special thanks to the Climb Max dudes and dudettes for going the extra mile and getting GOOD beer.! I'll try not to be so tired next year, hope it's an annual thing.
  23. I haven't seen this posted yet, so I apologise if it was. This is what BC Skiers do when there is no snow: or it was...as this was the the accident that got this event canceled. 9AFJrWN6CcM
  24. Longer than most of us have been alive. I'm sure this golf ball thing is wayyyy old. way. As your attorney Geoff, I advise you got get your ass out tomorrow and climb! I'm going to bed, good night.
