Back when I could get up that stuff, I always thought both of those pitches were hard for their grades. Sounds like he might have had some rope stretch as well Kev? Smith must have been perfect this weekend? It rained both days here but we got a couple of routes in anyway. Nothing as interesting as Ivan an Geoff up Beacon though. B4 (the rope to the right was hanging just left of a route later named "Balls of Steel", it was left so that cleaning could continue. It's pretty clean now. After PS, thats my new baby blue "Trad" chalkbag there, can you see the price tag on it ?

"It's a shame I can't start a thread ranting about this"

Hmmmmmmm.......and the Cherry Blossoms must be supporting the rise of militarism and natioanlism in Japan and with a name like Rey, she must be supporting illegal immigrants...... just guessing.

Wow, what a jaw dropping classic! I can't imagine how I missed that the first time.

I DON'T WANT TO BE THE ONE TO TELL HIM KEVBONE BEAT HIM TO IT ...that would be quite the kick in the balls.... -
Well shit, thats good to hear I'm not alone, I thought it was me. I already like yours better, and I read the word version.

ps, my fingers are still f*ed up, they hurt as I type right now, which is why I bought the book I think in the first place. Maybe I should have read it.
-
Yeah, in addition to my first thought, how about that? Add a full chapter on injuries, avoidance and healing processes? Good Idea. BTW, I have a copy of a book you might find interesting. I bought it thinking it would be interesting and instead it just turned out to be complex and uninteresting. As I was reading it, I was thinking you would appreciate it more than I. Written by 2 German doctors and published by Petzl. Have you checked this one out yet Mike?

Look, it's a world market and the supply demand curve is still in effect for petroleum. Lets not talk about millions in India, Mayasia, etc etc looking to get into cars. Lets just talk about a single city. For instance, for those of you who may not have heard of China, it's a country in Asia. They have cities the size of LA which you've never heard of. Lots of them. Chengdu, 8 million people, for instance. They all use to ride bikes in all those huge cities. Now they almost ALL drive. Cars. Esp, Shanghai and Bejing, and it's hitting the rest of the country as well, all the big cities are seeing this shift. ONE CITY IN ONE COUNTRY EXAMPLE VIA PICTURES Bejing before, wall to wall bikes: Bejing after, wall to wall cars: I've seen this with my own eyes recently, morning traffic there sucks as bad as Seattle in the morning. Freeways and all the major arterials are packed. Wall to wall, with cars and trucks. Plenty of Hummers and Jeeps over there too. Buick is the #1 seller, not Toyota, although they are all small Buicks made over there. It's pretty interesting. Everyone still pedaling over there wants to get a car like their rich brothers and sisters driving down the road. Like keeping up with the Jones, it's keeping up with the Wongs. It's gonna get worse before it gets better. This coincides with USA peak oil (decline of available reserves in the US cause we pumped out all the easy stuff already). Peak Oil will happen soon for worldwide reserves as well. We're using the shit up as fast as we can here, and now the rest of the world wants a piece of that action as well. Unfortunatly, they can't pull the shit out of thin air, and the supply is limited: one can tell that just by looking at the earth from outerspace. Finite bubbas: finite. PS, welcome back lummox

to anwser your question; the reason the us and sadia arabia wanted the Iraqi oil was not to drill it and increase supply that wouldn't make sence cause then the oil they own and pump out is worth less, the resaon for Bush's invasion.. stop suply. the iraqis were practically giveing oil to the seria, not counting what they sold to us and other nations, the more oil availible, ie the higher the suply, the less each barrel is worth. you think there is any corraltion with the fact that this is the Bush admin last little drain before there out in 6 mounths? ya summers ussaly brings and increase in price due to an increase in demand, but what other than the lack of supply and or increase in demand brings up the price of a product? so simple attck iraq, saction and "protect" their oil fields so no one gets any. there by increaseing the price of whats available. and as a side note its not to hard to blame those with the most to gain from this action, especally when they are in a position to make it happen. Load of extreme bullshit above.

Yeah, what OW says. I have a lot of respect for Debbie Schlussel, and appreciate alternative views like hers often are: but admit I haven't looked into any of this or seen the film in question. I will say though, that I enjoyed the video link and interesting Busey discourse Dawg. Thanks

64 pages? Wow, quite the book - you must be burning midnight oil. Bravo ML, like Ivan, haven't read it all yet, but what I see looks pretty damn good. BTW - still doing the stretches you recommended.....still can't touch my toes: , but I have hope. You asked for specific advice. Here's mine. Spend more time and words discussing injuries (and importance of avoiding them) right at the start of your work, at least a full page discussing them and emphasis on the importance of warming up slowly to start and working opposition muscles. As a Docktor, this is subject matter you will know better and more throughly than Horst or perhaps anybody, and you'll have personal anecdotal info to add as well I bet. What we've all found is that even a minor injury can quickly develop into some long term major F*ed up event, where the pain only makes the training (and climbing) suck so bad you never want to do it again, and it sabotages your plans.

Yes it is Mark, Ujahn took the picture. Glad to see J.O.s hand still on the rope! If you look carefully past the bright shiny scalp, you might still be able to see the price tag on my new blue Trad chalkbag back there.

$11.00 for Diesel in Britan. Less in France, under $9 for super. Time Magazine artical Link "On Tuesday, hundreds of British truck drivers in London and Cardiff brought traffic to a crawl in a campaign to get their government to lower taxes on diesel fuel, which now costs over $11 per U.S. gallon (3.8 liters). Other businesses owners who rely heavily on gas use — including farmers, ambulance and taxi drivers, and private bus companies — have joined the protest movement or are preparing to do so."

Busey or Hitler? Link by Debbie Schlussel "February 02, 2006 Boycott Gary Busey: Washed-up Actor Plays Evil Jew in Turkish Blood Libel Film Thanks Gary Busey! (And Billy Zane, too.) The whacked out former star of failed, dumb reality show "I'm with Busey" repeats the age-old anti-Semitic blood libel, that Jews steal others' organs, blood, etc. for some ill purpose--in this case, by playing an evil Jewish doctor. We have a suggestion for all Jewish-American doctors: Since Gary Busey defamed you, refuse him as a patient." It goes on....

My entire order is backordered 2 weeks. I ordered a range of sizes so I'm guessing they don't have any C4s in stock. It's frustrating but those are good prices so I guess I have to surrender something (in this case, speed). The shipment from China will be in soon with your BD cams, patience. Buy a Czeck rope and relax.

Just read the rulebook already, pink tape on the first bolt means that you're too pussy to crank...at least thats what I think it said on P1, but I lost my book...... And someone kyped my pink tape too. Isn't Dru a knowitall? How come he can't step up here. This lack of rulebook and finality is sooo distressing:-) Wait....I think that the judges ruling is coming in: HERE IT IS............ ahhh ....found it, finally, no help from Cliff Claven or Dru:...ON P38 no less of "The Climbers Rulebook" - there ya are, the judges say final final decision. End of discussion done you are welcome. Rude and generally worthy of an ass kicking and an old school ostracism (see page 54 for "Old School Ostracism").

Hi Mike - Ask Jeff, he had one earlier, he posts as hemp22

link says: "Think that gasoline is expensive at $4 a gallon? Maybe, but apparently that price point isn’t high enough to make Americans change their usual day-to-day driving habit: If oil hits $200 a barrel, which is the upper end of Goldman Sach’s prediction for prices over the next six months to two years, the gasoline picture changes quite dramatically. At $200 a barrel, crude alone would cost $4.76 a gallon. Add on the costs of refining and distributing as well as taxes, and pump prices could rise to a range of $6 to $7 a gallon. U.S. drivers haven’t radically changed their behavior, and it is unclear at what price it becomes unprofitable for Americans to go about their usual day-to-day activities, said Eric DeGesero, executive vice president of the Fuel Merchants Association of New Jersey. "Maybe at $6 or $7 a gallon, it becomes less attractive to go to work," Mr. DeGesero said. "We haven’t hit that point yet, but we might soon." End-

I think you'd have high weight to low strength ratio. The opposite of what you'd really want. After all that work, you'd have a large eye with lots of metal and weight in the eye, where you don't need it, and a weak pin. Rats nailed it. put them on Ebay and buy what you want.

Oh Oh Oh, one more thing. Hey Drew: piece of great news you might appreciate hearing: Tommy's finger, (seen here as demonstrated by some rapper) which he cut off with a table saw, is fully recovered.
