first ascent [TR] Distal Phalanx - North Arete (FA) 9/6/2008
billcoe replied to John Frieh's topic in North Cascades
Man thats some serious sick mileage...I'd still be napping on that ledge half way up. Ask Kyle, I was beat Saturday with 1/10th the work. Nice job! -
Damn, now the threads gonna denigrate further and start being all about politics again.... Obama Palin Mccain Biden blah de blah blah blah yak yak...

I don't know how that works, but I can pour for any one who steps up I do have to say though, one or 2 would help one loosen up, but more than that and I have visions of a leashless tool flipping over through the air a few times and planting into a spectator skull as someone slips off a hold and loses their grip... I'm surprised that didn't happen last year even with no beers. I'll be there in the free beer keg line for sure if anyone wants to say hi to me. I'll buy plenty of raffle tickets John, it's a good cause ---- esp if they can use the proceeds to put some new bolts into Dwayers backyard. I'd pay extra for that. Just sayin' is all...

I'll look for it John. Looks like Winter had a hell of a time too. Clean granite....ohhhhh MG hand me a Kleenex.

Holy F John, gorgeous line! Did you do a TR? ____________________________________________________ My weekend. Some cleaning pics. I freed up Ujahns line up the 100' to just below this block, and it was bigger (and sicker) than the picture shows. Maybe 12-15', and it appeared to be unattached from all sides. The line will go right up the left side there, with the only pro in the loose block thinggy. So I jugged up and kicked it, it doesn't want to come off. Hitting the top with my palm it sounded hollow and vibrated. Looked over and there was Kyle getting ready to set up another rap (zoomed in). Regular frame. I was trying to stay under the death block to keep the blocks Kyle was rolling off 100' up off my ass. Once he got to here, I could come out and play. Here it was last week with Ujahn on it - he's almost center of the pic. He's just above and right of the block which shows as a shadow/overhang making a mess. That was Saturday. ______________________________________________________________ Sunday: Jimmy's Favorite. 5.10a FA Bill Coe and Kyle Silverman 9 7 08 Start of route Middle of the line Topping out Kyle following Kyle rapping off. Finished up shooting the .45's. The Les Baer made those holes in the box with 2 clips of 8 per at 50 feet the previous trip to Cathedral. I didn't come close to those kinds of groups at Jimmy's and was 10' closer. I think it was the dirt in my eyes from cleaning all day *cough* bullshit* cough*. Kyles eyes seemed unaffected though, hmmm:-)

Blew them up and sealed them Put one at Ozone Wednesday And one at Rocky Butte Thursday. I don't expect the Rocky Butte one to last long. I wrote on felt tip on the Ozone one, "please give poster to Jim Opdycke after event". I checked on both this weekend and they were still there. Anyone thinking to run some b & w handouts to give out at the Madrone cleanup?

Damn John, I can see why you're doing the crossfit! What kind of vertical elevation is that?

found on the same web site, most popular stories. "The launching of an outright war using nuclear warheads against Iran is now in the final planning stages." from Jan 3rd, 2006 "Is the Bush Administration Planning a Nuclear Holocaust?" Feb 2006 "The Destruction of the World Trade Center: Why the Official Account Cannot Be True" also 2006 Ok, I've seen enough.

I think that's not a good thing as well. Giving a man part of the equation or part of the knowledge needed to be a climber could possibly be deadly to that person and that would be a horrible thing. The learning curve for learning to climb is long, which is why I rarely climb with any one who has not been doing it for at least 2 years. But that's for another thread. The Madrone clean up is a few days before the event, lets make sure that is covered too, maybe someone can take a poster out to that event as well.

Nice. I've got blown-up to 11 x 17 laminated posters on the Ozone (as of Wednesday night) and the populr Rocky Butte trail to Video Bluff (as of Thursday night -Ujahn and I bouldered last night up there). Getting one in the case a Beacon should be done as well if someone can get one there and ask the rangers to put one in there.

Like to see some of you post the "treasures" you find and buy there after you've drug them back to your lairs and nooks.

Nice cheap shot from another small-minded sport wanker. Pretty sure Mr. Cilley has climbed pitches you'll only dream about. I completely respect that he chooses to toprope where pricks like you would pound a line of bolts. Maybe it'S just me, but you come off sounding like a bit of a prick there.

Been there done that and read all his positions on his web site as well, and its easy to not be convinced of the guys skills in organization for obvious reasons. His web site makes it pretty clear that he is offering a lot of "something for nothing", and in the real world one never gets that I assure you. You may hope and belive that we will all get a chicken in every pot, yet the reality is that someone will still have to pay for the Chickens. BTW Prole, Bushs record was significantly better than Obamas before the election, and see where that got you don't you?

What works for me is Zanfel. It really WORKS. It also costs $32 for an Ounce. Thats 1 Oz. Walgreens makes and equivalent they call Poison Ivy Wash. It is the equal to Zanfel. It's costs $20 something for an ounce. One ounce. I gladly pay it when I consider the alternative. I've bought over 6 of these tubes so far this year, the last one a few months ago fortunatly. They say each tube should treat 15 ivy spots. My mileage is less. This Sh*t works. I'd like to grow my own though and save the scratch. now here's Rob pissing on my parade. BTW Rob, that's a Wikipedia article. It's strange that there are so many who say it works. link link The medical studies there don't mention the itching going away. I don't think that's conclusive. Yet I still haven't tried it yet. When the oak was strong in the spring, my plants were babies, now they're huge and I wouldn't feel bad tearing them up, but the leaves have fallen off the poison oak plants and I haven't gotten it recently.
