Now, you guys aren't just making sh*t up to fu* with an old man are ya? Check this out for a similar thread: http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.html?topic_id=731822

Yah, what was wrong with the old "arbitrary and capricious" teachers just beat your ass program of olden day? Always with these new programs. Side note: only whacked both kids 2 times total for both. Turned out great. However, there were damn strict rules which were well understood by both sides and kids, and they were so well behaved. Because there were clear rules, expectations, consequences and benefits. hmmm...... Have the same thing with the mutts, but they still piss on the carpet.

Well I for one just read yesterday that Obama was seriously going to go through the budget line by line and get rid of all the crap. He emphasized that we HAVE to get the deficit down. WE MUST! I can only say, that had he reemphasized it louder during his run, he would have won by an even larger margin. So as long as he is going to out-republican the republicans who only seem to stand for huge deficits and big government, and he wants to do the important things our county MUST archive to survive and move forward: I say if he wants to send his kids to a private school like a real repub, I'm fine with it. The challenges facing our new president are deep and wide thanks to the previous admin screwing the pooch. I'm glad he's the person leading this charge. We need an inclusive and deep thinker with physical stamina to match the mental depth needed. This is the guy. McCain would have been overwhelmed and we would have been sooooooo screwed. Obama is hiring what he perceives as the best people to do the job. Not (just) political hacks. Now that's a maverick.

Damn, shit like that really happens. We should take up a collection and buy that lad a shop vac.

Yes. Serious questions deserve serious answers. This pic from the John Frieh Rocky Butte collection should get you to ruminating on some of the flakes these tools may have pulled off. Look at the ground. I'm kidding. They climb routes which they FA developed with and for tools. Like John said.

Here's to hope and change:
-
I fixed that for you:-)

Better to be dumb than an insulting piece of shit such as yourself Pat, who cannot even answer a simple question.
-
Lots of words. Still avoiding the question. Either admit you cannot answer it or just confess your stupidity and be done with it.

Ditto and Congrats Elmo. This is further down @ 50' from Dougs route Pumping for the Man? BTW, if you are workin out there, you might consider drilling anchors on potential routes before the area becomes wilderness.

You guys rule for gettin' on it all winter. Small note: I think we may have discussed this. I did not trundle the obvious block on top where you dry tool, and although I only got up to the Butte maybe 5 times this year, it did appear at some point someone has been digging behind that boulder. I have a distinct feeling that it would roll without too much work. Sooo, I guess you guys can figure out if you want to avoid it or roll it. I once rolled a rock one winter (best time, as the leaves are off the trees for good visibility and there is less folks around as well) with a spotter at the base with a walkie talkie to give me the "all clear" (Dan Forester). Seemed like a pretty good strategy. He wandered around the base area looking for folks to make very very sure no one was there. That rock was @1/4 of the size of your block and was still very impressive in the trail of destruction it left. The part that surprised me, it was on the very top of Tiger Paws. I'd climbed that route many times-many many folks have, then boing/ out of the blue one day there's a small boulder right at the top out that use to be a solid grip and now it's rocking out 6" right above you when you get the same finger lock that use to be solid. Point, be careful but have fun:-) Dress warm.

Sorry, I just sprayed coffee all over the keyboard trying to stifle my laughter. Good luck in your new 'no resources required' universe. Once you've cleaned off the keyboard, can you show me an example of a critical resource that was completely depleted before substitution, conservation, and innovation made the problems presented by the scarcity of the said resource manageable - if not null and void? That's the question. I'm sure you can find at leas one example. Hell, I bet I probably could. Were Passenger Pigeons Critical resources?...Hmmm, probably not.

You might try reading JayBs question as you flapped your lips quite a lot and didn't answer it. Maybe you can't, so you fill up the space with hot air.
-
Actually, no one said jack shit about her not being pretty enough for the job. The facts were merely laid out. If being attractive was a criteria, neither of the presidential candidates would have made it that far, and Sarah Palin would be in office. But you could alternatively try reading what people ACTUALLY wrote on the thread as a starter, which, as it turns out, is different than what you THINK they wrote.
-
Well now you know.
-
Exactly. Noted that some of the positions are substantially different as well.

Someone on another thread was accusing someone of being a John Bircher. I really didn't know much about them, so I went and looked, pulled this off the John Birch Society web page so you know exactly what is being accused. Close to a bunch of Obama campaign promises. From here: http://www.jbs.org/ Family and Freedom Vibrant and healthy families are essential to securing limited government interference in a free society. Actions which empower families should be encouraged. National Sovereignty America's Founders fought hard for independence. Americans today should be similarly vigilant and should work to ensure that the nation's independence not be sacrificed. Inflation, Taxes, Economy Low taxes and sound money, rather than high taxes and inflation, are the key to a robust economy. Less debt and less creation of money out of thin air are the solutions to our economic problems. Health Care The quality of health care available in the United States is the envy of the world. Promoting a competitive free enterprise system of health care ensures that we continue to get the best care. Immigration Our nation leads the world in the amount of legal immigration each year. Those seeking a better life here should obey our laws. Those who have immigrated illegally should not be granted amnesty. Energy Abundant affordable energy is the life blood of economic progress and prosperity, and energy independence is the key to national economic success in America. The Constitution The U.S. Constitution is the finest charter of government yet created for the purpose of limiting government and protecting our natural rights, and freedoms. War & Foreign Policy America should not seek abroad for monsters to destroy. Instead, the nation should ensure the common defense, seek trade with all, and avoid entangling alliances. Privacy and Internet Freedom Americans, as clearly stated in our Constitution, should be secure in their papers and effects. As true in the real world of day to day life, it is equally important in the virtual world online. Education Diversity in educational choices is essential in a free society. Education provided for in an open marketplace of ideas is superior to any standardized system imposed by government. Environmental Stewardship Americans seek to be good stewards of the environment. The best way to achieve that goal is through respect for property rights and through individual action in local communities. Right to Bear Arms Every person has the right to self defense, whether against hunger, crime or tyranny. To that end, the Founders declared that the right to bear arms may not be infringed.

I love trip reports. I love looking at the pictures....but can we call a spade a spade please. A trip report is nothing but spray. "Hey....look at what I climbed this weekend"! Is it not spray to talk about yourself? Even if it’s cool and people like it? I think so……. Do you not notice a difference when you go to spray and peruse those posts? Everyone else does. Calling it spray implys that somehow this post is a bad thing despite you saying that you like it. Consider this: the rest of us want it just the way it is.

Saturday the company thing was doing lunch on the sternwheeler and cruising the Willamette. Didn't go climbing or hiking, but did get my spray quotient up a bit. Today, called Jim and he blew me off, Ujahn was busy (seen here doing trapeze stuff this weekend). So I went out to solo some on that wall in the picture up there. It was as quiet as it ever gets. NO ONE anywhere! It took 4 hours to get there, worked on the trail on the way. The rock was still wet from yesterdays rain. Stepped off the ground and the the first cold muddy foothold waited @ 10 seconds before it blew. Decided to stay close to the ground as an injury alone could very well turn fatal. The ground where it was shaded never unfroze, there was snow 100' up.

Shrill or not, Hillary says yes is the story today. To be announced after Thanksgiving. "ABC News reports that Clinton even was leaning toward rejecting Obama's offer, until his staff members flooded her with calls to convince her to say yes. Clinton had told the Obama transition team on Wednesday that she didn't want to give up her independence in the Senate, sources told ABC News. The New York Times, citing two Clinton confidants, said that the former First Lady reached the decision to accept after further discussions about her potential role with President-elect Barack Obama."

Cool, I'll lead anything you want. I usually don't like to lead gym routes or short routes, but I make an exception for LO wall. BTW, it's not the best spot to boulder, and don't blame me for it being a little shithole, but I PM'ed you a copy of Johns directions. For some damn reason, it stays generally damper/wetter than say: Ozone, despite both being south facing crags. However, you can often get a quick afterwork pump there. Ujahn use to live less than a mile away, so it was very convenient for a while for me to pop over there after work to get a burn.

#13, you asshole, I sprayed coffee all over the monitor...LOL, and I can't stop laughing! OMG! I need to see that more often..... OMG! thats funny. THANK YOU! BTW, I think it's almost as funny no one rose to the original bait.
