  1. Well now you know.
  2. Exactly. Noted that some of the positions are substantially different as well.
  3. Someone on another thread was accusing someone of being a John Bircher. I really didn't know much about them, so I went and looked, pulled this off the John Birch Society web page so you know exactly what is being accused. Close to a bunch of Obama campaign promises. From here: http://www.jbs.org/ Family and Freedom Vibrant and healthy families are essential to securing limited government interference in a free society. Actions which empower families should be encouraged. National Sovereignty America's Founders fought hard for independence. Americans today should be similarly vigilant and should work to ensure that the nation's independence not be sacrificed. Inflation, Taxes, Economy Low taxes and sound money, rather than high taxes and inflation, are the key to a robust economy. Less debt and less creation of money out of thin air are the solutions to our economic problems. Health Care The quality of health care available in the United States is the envy of the world. Promoting a competitive free enterprise system of health care ensures that we continue to get the best care. Immigration Our nation leads the world in the amount of legal immigration each year. Those seeking a better life here should obey our laws. Those who have immigrated illegally should not be granted amnesty. Energy Abundant affordable energy is the life blood of economic progress and prosperity, and energy independence is the key to national economic success in America. The Constitution The U.S. Constitution is the finest charter of government yet created for the purpose of limiting government and protecting our natural rights, and freedoms. War & Foreign Policy America should not seek abroad for monsters to destroy. Instead, the nation should ensure the common defense, seek trade with all, and avoid entangling alliances. Privacy and Internet Freedom Americans, as clearly stated in our Constitution, should be secure in their papers and effects. As true in the real world of day to day life, it is equally important in the virtual world online. Education Diversity in educational choices is essential in a free society. Education provided for in an open marketplace of ideas is superior to any standardized system imposed by government. Environmental Stewardship Americans seek to be good stewards of the environment. The best way to achieve that goal is through respect for property rights and through individual action in local communities. Right to Bear Arms Every person has the right to self defense, whether against hunger, crime or tyranny. To that end, the Founders declared that the right to bear arms may not be infringed.
  4. I love trip reports. I love looking at the pictures....but can we call a spade a spade please. A trip report is nothing but spray. "Hey....look at what I climbed this weekend"! Is it not spray to talk about yourself? Even if it’s cool and people like it? I think so……. Do you not notice a difference when you go to spray and peruse those posts? Everyone else does. Calling it spray implys that somehow this post is a bad thing despite you saying that you like it. Consider this: the rest of us want it just the way it is.
  5. TARP = MUST be an acronyn for: Taxpayer Ass Raping Program
  6. Because it's a trip report. There's actually a special section for them, which is why he posted it there. Did you know there is a climbing forum, too? LOL! Nice Ivan!
  7. Saturday the company thing was doing lunch on the sternwheeler and cruising the Willamette. Didn't go climbing or hiking, but did get my spray quotient up a bit. Today, called Jim and he blew me off, Ujahn was busy (seen here doing trapeze stuff this weekend). So I went out to solo some on that wall in the picture up there. It was as quiet as it ever gets. NO ONE anywhere! It took 4 hours to get there, worked on the trail on the way. The rock was still wet from yesterdays rain. Stepped off the ground and the the first cold muddy foothold waited @ 10 seconds before it blew. Decided to stay close to the ground as an injury alone could very well turn fatal. The ground where it was shaded never unfroze, there was snow 100' up.
  8. Shrill or not, Hillary says yes is the story today. To be announced after Thanksgiving. "ABC News reports that Clinton even was leaning toward rejecting Obama's offer, until his staff members flooded her with calls to convince her to say yes. Clinton had told the Obama transition team on Wednesday that she didn't want to give up her independence in the Senate, sources told ABC News. The New York Times, citing two Clinton confidants, said that the former First Lady reached the decision to accept after further discussions about her potential role with President-elect Barack Obama."
  9. Cool, I'll lead anything you want. I usually don't like to lead gym routes or short routes, but I make an exception for LO wall. BTW, it's not the best spot to boulder, and don't blame me for it being a little shithole, but I PM'ed you a copy of Johns directions. For some damn reason, it stays generally damper/wetter than say: Ozone, despite both being south facing crags. However, you can often get a quick afterwork pump there. Ujahn use to live less than a mile away, so it was very convenient for a while for me to pop over there after work to get a burn.

    FOR J_B

#13, you asshole, I sprayed coffee all over the monitor...LOL, and I can't stop laughing! OMG! I need to see that more often..... OMG! thats funny. THANK YOU! BTW, I think it's almost as funny no one rose to the original bait.
  11. Well, it's a closely guarded secret....awww, kidding. From your words.....there is this from just the previous page of this thread as an example...Kevin, do you read the stuff you write or is premature Alzheimer's setting in? :-)
  12. Ouch, rough crowd.
  13. Omama is my president. I don't expect to like everything he does, hopefully, it's better than it has been with the last dude in there. I am going to not backbite the guy, although it may seem that way on occasion. I'm praying he does the right things and keeps the country safe, cause everything after that is a pony ride. From all accounts, it looks good to me. Sorry if anyone don't like it, but that thats the way to be IMO.
  14. It was who I thought..... Kevin and Ivan, there's lots of other places to go bolt....Lots!
  15. Great find SS!
  16. I don't think there is an absolute Black or White to the thing Ivan, and you just reinforced it. I hate to see us acting in ways that are the opposite of what we think our self image is. ie, gracious, helpful and friendly. Yet our overseas actions are full of such horseshit, to the point that you probably couldn't list it all the list is so long. Carter, to his credit, tried to reign in our foreign excess's and failed. Looking at Obamas list of appointees, I don't suppose it will change, but it would be nice if they closed Guantanamo and still kept the few who truly would be dangerous out of action. It was only last June that the supreme court ruled they have access to due process http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article ...can't say how that's been going, but I know they have been releasing some. It's a confusing mish mash in that there truly are innocent people there, who's names were given in a duplicitous manner by other Afghans to further their political reasons. And there have been plenty of instances of detainees released from Guantanamo who have returned right back to the [Afghan] battlefield to kill Americans. I suspect that the Obama admin will just have some of these dudes merely transferred to Afgan prisons so he can still claim Gitmo is closed.
  17. I thought you had some good points JB. Edited to add: I tend to be very suspicious of magazines ever since I learned that Steve Forbes (Forbes Magazine) dad, Malcolm, made a mint of money by literally and legally blackmailing corporations. His tactic would be to squash negative stories if you paid full price for a 6 page ad. If you chose to disregard his friendly attempt to help you, and not to place the ad, then the story would run with extra "sky is falling for your company" spin. If you were preparing a bond offering, it would be disastrous. Who says all the pirates live in Somalia? Cya!
  18. Hi Bradley! Good bumping into you last night. You should have been doing laps earlier in the year with us outside before it rained. BTW, there is a little climbing wall close to your work in Lake Oswego. Kevbone found it only as his company was moving across the river, so I thought I'd just say it now. Maybe it's all old news. Also, Ujahn has like 3 secret bouldering areas close to you, he use to live @ a block off the lake and found these spots while on runs etc. Ask him about it sometime he doesn't keep secrets. I went to one once, and it's a little shithole, but I got pumped fast. (common occurrence:-)
  19. Yes, thanks for supplying the link which was requested.... NOT! Oh, sorry, no link. Of course you would be too busy talking and complaining to go find it. I do see that the goon called you "cuddly". WTF was he thinking? Definitely a Gestapo like move. We all know that the Gestapo started off that way and it went downhill from Cuddly:-) ....NOT! Now we will watch and see if Trash will show up with a rational post, with links, or if he will pull another low-life dickhead asswipe personal attack. I suspect the latter. Anyone want to do an office pool?
  20. hah hah! Thanks Matt. OK, here's an example: In response to a post from Doug, Peter Said: to which Trash replied in full: Now 9 out of 10 people, if you removed the posters names and asked which of these posts is coming from a piece of shit low-life dickhead? 99.9% would name the 2nd post as coming from a piece of shit low-life dickhead and not the first. Do you need more examples? When we examine it closer, we see that Peters post is on topic. Topic is "Janet Reno back at homeland security director post". When we look at the 2nd post, we see that the shithead who posted it called the first poster a racist, although it was the shithead himself who introduced the idea and offers no supporting link. Rational and reasonable folks of course, find this disingenuous and disheartening to see this kind of a low life attack for no apparent reason.
  21. jb, what gestapo like tactics ? links?
  22. OK, who is the phantom?
  23. i think most folks would acknowledge mandela is a remarkable man, and not the sort of person to compare the rest of the world to though - he also got his revenge, in a sense, by winning (seeing apartheid destroyed and becoming president) - if he'd been pardoned or released a decade earlier, when teh bad guys were still in power, who's to say he wouldn't have become a violent terrorist? So you are suggesting it was a good thing he was kept locked up. hmmmm, ok.
