Hey those are almost all free, and they sound like fun! Can I add - pulling donuts in the day lots...
-
I'm quite aware of that, thank you. It's just that I find most of the options boring or expensive. Maybe that's a reflection on me.

Ok here's things I miss from the old board: - very neccesary. Active Topics - I know timmy is working on it. To the Top - can we get a "to the top" button on the bottom of pages? Quote - I liked the auto quoting thing where the quote and attribution would come up when you replied to a post. Although thwe new method seems to leave less clutter in general. Maybe undecided on this one. All in all I like the new board. My Home - great feature. The flashing PM indicator is great. Thanks Timmy and Jon for a great place to blow off some steam, and occasionaly learn something.

Easy if there aint no skiing...

I just think it's lame to report (read boast) about something that you didn't even manage to finish. Imean really, what is the story there. It's like getiing caught for having a toke in your pocket, and then the cops say, "We aren't going to bust you this time because the judge won't even do anything about it." I'm not for bombing there asses. I think that it is probably good that the ship was uncovered, and that more people know about what's going on.
-
Or makes people laugh at you. Seriously, read between the lines. That article is such a load of horse poop propoganda. Think for yourselves, that's what your fighting for isn't it? The right to think? OK I'm going to duck and cover now... [just minor grammar edits]
-
Umm maybe... But I actually was trolling for an well thought out reply. Everyone was all rah rah, good job etc, and when I went to read the article I was thinking, "Wow, that's pathetic." Any way, what's wrong with trying to start shit?

Not neccesarily in opposition, but I sure like to know it's good for an outward pull. A nice cam, or a perfect nut is all I ask.

Greg W.: And there is the crux of this arguement. Some believe as you do in the idea of you only get something if yu are able to get it for yurself, and others believe in helping the neighbour. It seems that both sides are so deeply entrenched in their beliefs that there will never be a resolution. Really what I value is that there can be both sides, and that we can both get on with our own lives in the way we want to. When government starts to impinge on that, well . I like universal health care. It is nice to know that if for some reason I lose my job and hurt myself out on some climbing trip, that I am not going to go broke paying for it. I make the choice that the taxws are worth it. I don't like taxes in general, althoughg I certainly enjoy the benefits from them. There are many cases where it has been shown that the government can do a more effecient job of administering services. The water boards in the UK are a good example. Wasn't this thread about something else entirely at the beginning? Why hasn't anyone responded to:

I seem to remeber it was almost that much in the US. Well maybe $3...
-
So the US (oops I mean Spain) stopped a ship full of bombs, and then they had to let it go. And then they said, " Under the U.S. sanctions, Changgwang Sinyong Corp. will be barred for two years from obtaining new individual export licenses through the Commerce or State departments for any controlled missile technology items. The sanctions have little practical effect, one official said, because there is so little commerce between the United States and North Korea. But the official said they reinforce President Bush’s message that North Korea spreads dangerous technology." Way to go, it sounds like they are really effective.

PS I think Red Bull is legal these days.

I bet he's talking about the length of the grip, not the circumfrence, might be a little harder to build that up.
-
And y'all wonder why the rest of the world doesn't like you...

Top of my list is *FRESHIEZ* Mark Twight's _Kiss or Kill_ Digi cam

LMAO Wow! But Hmmm... Someone must have been ice "farming". I bet the ethix and moralz committee are gonna be on their asses pretty quick!

Well they are the modern refinement of the "canadian" system that you (and I) love so much. In fact they are both Canadian too, as G3 is from BC, and the Skye guy is one of their old engineers... Here is a good pic of the G3 System: The Skye/BD system is very similar. I used the "canadian" system for years (being Canadian and all eh?), and have few complaints. I think the G3 is slightly better though. It has no need of a screw in the top of the ski, so works on any ski, and seems to keep better tension on the tail when your glue is shot. Wild Snow has a good homebrew for the canadian system, with a few nice refinements.
-
my $0.03: Get fatties. Especially if you hope to ski in dry snow, I find that when I am inland my skins have even more trouble sticking to the snow. Get BD Ascension. I have never had problems with mine, unlike some others I have tried. (I missed the bad glue year mind you.) Get the G3 or BD/Skye Tip-tail kits. They work the best that tried. Clip fix is supposed to be good, but fussy to set up. Check the BD website they had some cosmetic 2nds I think...
-
You know what they say, "Huge hands = huge...." Actually I have a problem with that too. While feet aren't too much trouble, hands are. I can only find a few gloves that I can actually get on. And I actually like the size of my shafts on my BD Prophets. Maybe some one will come up with a modular system with different size grips and stuff?? "...huge gloves"

There's good rock if you look for it, kinda like Squamish has bad rock if you look for it. I did the NE (?) ridge of Ha Ling (Chinaman's) peak and was told that it was one of the most solid routes in the Rockies. I was never more scared of killing my belayer than on that route! Still in all it was fun.

What muffy and dru doin talkin bout freshiez... Must have meant some good canadian
-
So what she is saying is that one day she will be the world's best spelling teacher.
-
Oh, yeah.. I was thinking Squamish. But I would have to agree, France sounds good too, then I could climb ice, rock, and ski all in the same season, as well as eat good food and wine. Ha! back to the original subject.
