  1. My wife is planning on starting a southbound solo trip of the PCT on July 15. Any recent beta on snow levels be would help. If you have any photos you could share, even better.
  2. Dude, I like your style even if you live in Seattle. I may be an overweight middle aged guy but like what does that matter. Count me in. HUZZAH!
  3. Your ex? Did Summer dump you Alex? Bwahahahahahahahahahah!
  4. Ten great days in J-tree with the GF, one day back to work and i get fired! Sounds like a really good excuse for more climbing. Smith Rocks, City of Rocks or Red Rocks... Meet me there ?
  5. Skip the WAC class. The're an elitest bunch of possers. After the class is over you would be hard pressed to find anyone of them you would enjoy climbing with let alone one that actually climbs. The Boeing Alpine Club has a fine group of members. The're a very active bunch year round and have other great classes to offer. Network with them and you'll go way beyond baic climbing.
  6. It's a on linear universe.
  7. Dude! lets go high marking at Turnagain Pass. Bha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha DIE, SUCKA DIE!
  8. Gator is busy with body recovery, go for it.

  10. Ah, that Todd guy is like that sometimes but he's allright. Jameson is way friendly and Marshall is "Da Man" when it comes to the skinny on da skis! Then there's that other guy, I won't name names (MB), he'll answer any question you don't have. There's also a couple of cuties behind the counter every now and then, they know the business. In the last couple years FF has had some stellar shows going on: Andrew Mclean and Jack Tackle. Keep up the good work, you guys
  11. I really enjoyed that climb when we were in the Sawtooths a couple of years ago. If you ever decide to do it again, take a look at a variation of the last pitch. From the ledge after you crawl under the summit block, to the left there is an exposed and unprotectable (for about 25 feet) arete. The first move is a kind of sporty 5.8 move and then it backs off to mid 5th to finish. There was a team behind us waiting to watch us on the standard finnish and they were quite suprised to see us on top.
  12. Joseph Smith the Mormon? Speaking of Mormans, checkout "Under the Banner of Heaven" by Krakauer. Recently read: "War is a Force That Gives Us Meaning" by Chris Hedges "American Dynasty : aristocracy, fortune, and the politics of deceit in the house of Bush" by Kevin P. Phillips "Tamata and the Alliance" by Bernard Moitessier Currently reading "The Endless Knot" by Kurt Diemberger
  13. Take off your pants and jack it.
  14. The coupon is good for "selected" items, not the entire outlet inventory. There are no ropes included in the selected items. Still, there are some pretty good prices on ropes.
  15. Looking for a 4th who could leave this evening, Sunday. It's like 2:00 PM now. Give me a call @ 206-778-6716 if you think you want to go. The weather is looking better.
  16. If you think like a Lummox, you will become a lummox. Quick links.
  17. Hey Fromage, you talk'in bout this one ?
  18. Yep, that's what makes our world go round. Make it and we'll justify buying it. Oh and I'll just keep using my fingers for dental floss, thank you.
  19. I'm looking for a belay/rappel device for smaller diameter ropes, twins, ice floss... Have you any first hand experience with either of these 2 units? Pros? Cons? Specifically, I'd like the autolocking feature of the Reversino but would like to run a pair of 8.5's through them. It's range is 7.5mm to 8.2mm where as the Buggette has a range from 7.5 to 8.5. Reversino Buggette
  20. Wow, that's the strangest thing I've ever heard...middle aged ladies taking a pee. Glad I changed my mind about skiing there this weekend.
  21. Slothrop, I suggest you remove the dark glasses.
  22. There is an area 86 miles NW of Kalispell called "Stone Hill" along the shores of Lake Koocanusa. It's refered to by the locals as "Kooc". You'll find roadside crags with some bolted and some trad routes on mostly solid quartzite. There is a NF campground near there on state highway 37 that's free. The folks over at Pipestone can tell you more about it. They carry a guide to it. It's a nice place to spend a couple of days climbing along the lakes shores.
  23. Take a look at Lowell Skoog's The Alpenglow Ski Mountaineering History Project . Check out different areas under Chronology, get in touch with lowell.skoog@alpenglow.org , maybe get your name in the book.
  24. Now that's a helpful response.
  25. SKIING, and uh, CLIMBING
