Ah, that Todd guy is like that sometimes but he's allright. Jameson is way friendly and Marshall is "Da Man" when it comes to the skinny on da skis! Then there's that other guy, I won't name names (MB), he'll answer any question you don't have. There's also a couple of cuties behind the counter every now and then, they know the business. In the last couple years FF has had some stellar shows going on: Andrew Mclean and Jack Tackle. Keep up the good work, you guys

I really enjoyed that climb when we were in the Sawtooths a couple of years ago. If you ever decide to do it again, take a look at a variation of the last pitch. From the ledge after you crawl under the summit block, to the left there is an exposed and unprotectable (for about 25 feet) arete. The first move is a kind of sporty 5.8 move and then it backs off to mid 5th to finish. There was a team behind us waiting to watch us on the standard finnish and they were quite suprised to see us on top. -

Take off your pants and jack it.

The coupon is good for "selected" items, not the entire outlet inventory. There are no ropes included in the selected items. Still, there are some pretty good prices on ropes.

Yep, that's what makes our world go round. Make it and we'll justify buying it. Oh and I'll just keep using my fingers for dental floss, thank you.

I'm looking for a belay/rappel device for smaller diameter ropes, twins, ice floss... Have you any first hand experience with either of these 2 units? Pros? Cons? Specifically, I'd like the autolocking feature of the Reversino but would like to run a pair of 8.5's through them. It's range is 7.5mm to 8.2mm where as the Buggette has a range from 7.5 to 8.5. Reversino Buggette

Wow, that's the strangest thing I've ever heard...middle aged ladies taking a pee. Glad I changed my mind about skiing there this weekend. -
Slothrop, I suggest you remove the dark glasses.

There is an area 86 miles NW of Kalispell called "Stone Hill" along the shores of Lake Koocanusa. It's refered to by the locals as "Kooc". You'll find roadside crags with some bolted and some trad routes on mostly solid quartzite. There is a NF campground near there on state highway 37 that's free. The folks over at Pipestone can tell you more about it. They carry a guide to it. It's a nice place to spend a couple of days climbing along the lakes shores.

Now that's a helpful response.

Do yo mean roving? Twisted fibers, sisal, Manila rope? How much of a load do you think that could withstand, what about abrasion and shock load? Sure is affordable! OK, I'm convinced. I'll load up a haul bag with thousand dollars worth of gear, food, water, clothing and hang it on a natural fiber cord. Excuse me for straying. Get a 60M.

A fine 4500ft run down the untracked Paradise glacier in the sunshine while the hordes ski the rough on the Muir, a big bowl of Pho at Than Brothers and now a Bert Grant's Spring Fest Ale while reading about all the other cool people who know how to live.

CyberSpace Avalanche Center (CSAC) has a reporting system for incidents involving injuries and fatalities. Comprehensive, no. International, definitley. Turns All Year is a PNW based resource for trip reports with information on snopack, surface conditions, pit analysis and other useful information. No spray! If you would like to be part of a solution to the lack of useful information, consider taking Levels II and III Avalanche Forecasting courses and start reporting.
