Great history lesson Lowell!!
I love learning about some of this stuff and thinking about some of the past individuals that pioneered routes in the state. You should post another N Cascades Trivia.
Used a skinny ice floss on my last glacier outing. No problem, because you will not be loading anywhere near the limit on a crevasse fall. Just watch the slack between you and your partners, but that should already be something you are watching anyway. Right
Then you'll just love this one.
It's pretty much everything from East to West as seen from camp.
I took the picture with Bugaboo-Snowpatch Col and Bugaboo Spire on different
days than the rest, so that's why there's a bit of a fake shadow and ghost tent showing up.

Sick!
I know one other party that did it in under 48 hours this year and was hassled by the ranger who said, "not many people do it in less than three days, I'm not sure I can give you a permit"
Picked up a pair of 8.5 x 60m Mammut Genesis half ropes before heading out on my last trip. $159 each was a bit steep, but I needed new cords anyway for ice climbing this coming winter.
So, the last few times I've crossed from America into Canada this year we have had to get out of the car and go into the station for a complete background and immigration check. It's funny that going into Canada I have had more problems, but when I come back into the States they just ask a few questions and we're on our way. You'd think it would be the other way around with the issues going on.
