Yes. The frame is held in by a flap of velcro. The load lifters tend to undo the velcro, and the frame starts sliding out of it's flap. The shoulder straps, while cushy, are too short. When properly adjusted, the unpadded part of the strap digs into my chest. Ouch. The hipbelt, while it has the famous hip protecting squash pods, is too short to actually protect my hips. Instead, the webbing rests against my hipbones, and gets sore with big loads. The compression straps are stupid, on one side they don't have fastex buckles, so you have to slide skis in. Very annoying, big waste of time. For the rest, it's a nice pack, reasonably light, trim, etc, etc. If you're wondering why I own it, I got it as a gift. Funny, DFA has the 52 (fifty-something, anyway), and never had a problem with the load lifters/framesheet issue you describe. The rest of your problems sound like they're fit related, i.e. the pack doesn't fit you right. Maybe instead of moaning about issues like too-small shoulder straps and hip belt, you should have gotten a larger suspension? Or maybe lay off the Pringles and mayonnaise?

DFA has tried on Osprey packs with an average climbing gear load in them, and they seem to fit remarkably well. The Doctor owns an Arc'Teryx, though, and it, too, is a cush carry. Both are bomberly constructed, too. Could come down to features.

Rule number 0: If anyone tries to get you to join the military, KICK THEIR ASS! BOO-ya!
-
Sheesh, heck yeah. See most of the routes at the Gallery and Wall of Confusion at Red Rocks . Keep meaning to add a couple pairs of quick links and some mini Vice-Grips to the pack for those occasions.

That's a pretty glib, simplistic dismissal of a fairly significant issue. Do you really think it's prudent for a nation to engage in this sort of thing without accepting some responsibility for possible outcomes? In fact, it seems that when Saddam was providing weapons to Al Qaeda*, it was deemed to have been a bad thing by the current administration. * since revealed to be a lie

"2) When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest---kick their ass. 3) Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass. " So, what happens if you see a disabled veteran burning the flag in protest? Stupid jarheads.

That's not spelling, that's grammar. I guess we both better go back to grade school. Hey, then we could beat the crap out of each other, and we'd just get timeouts. Eat a bag of dicks, bookworm.
-
Yeah? And your spelling sucks, genius. AND, if your reading comprehension was above the 2nd grade level, you'd realize that DFA is no longer arguing that the grading scale is correct.
-
Ha ha, now you look dumbish.

No no no, DFA was just expanding on the original "white trash bigot" remark. But it's all just a big joke, right? 'Cause DFA's as white as it gets, eh? Sheesh, you short people just don't get anything, do you? Did you know that 5.15a is the same as V18?
-
Oh, yeah, you're involved in this debate. Sure. Piss off, slabgrappler.
-
'Cause DFA hates crackers. Got a problem with that, Wonder Bread?
-
Whatever, honky.

People going bouldering! HA HA HA HI-LARIOUS!!! It's people going ... going ... they're going bo ... they're bouldering ... it's funny because ... um ... ... bouldering?
-
Piss off, white trash bigot.

dfa my bud, you still aren't reading the scale correctly. They aren't the same grades for routes and boulders. Read my post on page 1. 8C = V15 ~ 9a+ = 5.15a get it???? Attention, condescending dicksqueeze: Dr. Flash Amazing has been playing this little game we call "climbing" for long enough to understand that routes and boulder problems are graded differently. Had you been focusing your boulder problem-length attention span on DFA's route-length logic for longer than three seconds, you would have figured out that the Doctor was surmising that a route that is as long as a boulder problem must be boulder problem hard, and could perhaps get a bouldering grade. Not knowing the conversion off the top of his head, DFA went straight to the online grading scale he knows how to find, i.e. THIS ONE RIGHT HERE AT 8a.nu. You should now look at it so you can understand DFA's point. You'll notice that this scale lists each bouldering grade from V11 on up as corresponding to each route letter grade from .13b on up, and the scale stops at V15, which this scale lists as being roughly equivalent to .14b. Extrapolating from here, USING THE INFORMATION ON THIS GRADING SCALE, the bouldering equivalent of 5.15a would be V18. Obviously, looking at a scale with a different conversion (e.g. the scale you referred to), it is clear that this is not the case. Before you respond YET AGAIN that DFA "doesn't get it," is "looking at it the wrong way," or is "too old to understand," look AGAIN at the scale DFA looked at, and think the matter through carefully. Let's don't make the Doctor dispatch an AmazingCo, Inc. Conflict Resolution Team to your house with a 55-gallon drum of carnuba wax and a Costco-sized box of enemas, pardner.

So which "Blue Steel" is that? This one: http://www.zoolander.com/flash_site/about_looks.html Or maybe this one: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/6301966899/104-6564602-0484706?v=glance Or one of these: http://www.slimstore.com/bluesteel.htm http://www2c.biglobe.ne.jp/~scenery/bluesteel/

Sheesh, just click on the grading scale link in DFA's post above. It's from 8a.nu. If you continue the V scale the way they have it, that's what 5.15a would clock in at. Don't go crucifyin' the Doctor like he's Michael Moore, now!
